I gave them my 3L fall semester transcript during my final interview. I do not have my 3L Spring semester grades yet.

Just wondering: where did you guys send any updated transcripts/resumes? I e-mailed it to them and asked for a confirmation that they received it, but they never responded.

In response to this, and for anybody searching this thread in future years, always bring copies of your most recent resume, transcript, and ALL letters of recommendation to each interview. You need to personally place these things in your file in order to guarantee they're there for the final review. This is especially important for your letters of recommendation. It doesn't matter if you think they probably already have 4 copies of the same letter - bring another one anyway. Better 10 copies than none at all, which is not outside the realm of possibility if you just try to fax it or mail it or whatever.

If it's past the interview date, there's a fax number and mailing address listed on the application.

Not to deter anyone from following the above suggested advice and mailing in LoRs and updated resumes and transcripts, but I would find it hard to believe that they haven't decided on our fates already. lol, I can't imagine them saying, "oh shit, Peter participated in an arbitration competition in March! STOP THE LETTERS FROM GOING OUT! WE MUST REEVALUATE EVERYONE!" Again, this isn't to deter anyone from sending in additional materials, but rather because i don't believe it would be reason to panic or enter frenzy mode because you forgot something minute.

Sorry for the mini-rant. Needed a distraction from final papers and studying.

I had my final interview before my fall grades came out, so I couldn't give them a hard copy. I already faxed and e-mailed it to them a bunch of times. When I went to my final interview they had the oldest copy of my resume on them, even though I sent updated ones in the fall. I just worry that they don't ever get my updated stuff. I guess when you're stuck waiting for a decision you do nothing but worry about what could go wrong lol.

So the lesson for all future suckers generations of applicants looking through this thread is to plan ahead and bring everything to every interview.

Anecdotally, there's like a 5% chance your file will end up with all the documents it's supposed to have. Which should tell you something about how little they care about those documents compared with who you know in the office.

That still doesn't deal with the situation where you resume/transcript changes AFTER your interview. Some sure sounds bitter, though.

Well I think this has been answered - you send that stuff to the fax/address listed on the application and it may or may not wind up in your file. It's the best you can do after the interviews. Not that it'll make much difference that your GPA went up .02.

Are you a 2L? Because if you get through this hiring process without a healthy twinge of cynicism, chances are you did it wrong. I'm not bitter, just pragmatic. Spend enough time going through this process and you start to learn where your energy should be focused. Resumes and transcripts are not really at the top of the list.

I know someone earlier said they are doing calls this year if they are going to offer you something, and a letter otherwise. Can anyone else confirm this?

That's how it's been in recent years - offers by phone call, waitlists and rejects by letter.

I laughed my ass off when I read this. Thanks for breaking up the tension a bit. Everyday that I check the mailbox and I don't get a ding letter is a mini-victory in my book.

Are they calling alphabetically? To the person that received a call, does your last name start with a letter at the beginning of the alphabet?

No clue if they're calling alphabetically, but based on calls for interviews, I don't think they do that. The person's last name who received an offer is not at the beginning of the alphabet.

I'm not the person who got the call, no. The person who did received the call around 12-12:30 this afternoon. I'm 100% confident this person is being honest. I haven't heard about anyone else receiving calls, but then again, I don't keep in touch with many other people who clerked for the office and are still involved in the hiring process.
