I'm apparently on some kind of waitlist for the DC office. If you have an offer and aren't going to take it, can you let them know?

Hey guys, just be careful and make sure to do your research before jumping into any offers. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into and have really researched the firm....

I know someone who literally just got an offer within a couple days of W&C putting out a hail mary resume collect after he struck out at all the firms he originally had CBs with...at a T14 school...ummmm.

Do you think he should turn it down even if it's his only offer? I might be in the same sad position.Anonymous User wrote:And even then, he shouldn't take it.....

Re: White & Case - CBs --> Offers?
Of course they should take it. The previous anon is being ridiculous, maybe they have struck out and really hope for W & C. White & Case does not treat its associates well, but neither does most of big law. They will fire you if their profits are going down, so will Latham. There are some doubts about their health, so is this case with K & L Gates and other firms. At the end of the day though, it is still a V25 with good practices and interesting work. I got rejected from them, but would have easily accepted their offer. The associate I met was really nice though he seemed overworked.Anonymous User wrote:Do you think he should turn it down even if it's his only offer? I think you should take it as long as your decisions are informed. Its hard to judge firms from the outside, thats for sure and even harder when your options are limited. Just make sure to do plenty of research before committing. Its very hard to change once you have decided to accept with one.

i was dinged within a week of my callback... it stung pretty badly, but if you are still waiting to hear... rest assured that they ding people pretty quickly and you are most likely still in the hunt... (not lost in a pile on someone's desk)
