Out of a class of 12 2Ls and 6 1Ls, it is rumored that there was one no-offer and two potential cold offers at Baker Botts Dallas.

Was your offer from one of the Big 3? Nervous Texas summer checking in. Sounds like offers are starting to go out at Texas firms.kpterrifico wrote:TX split-summer here. Just got an offer from first-half firm.
Austin!
Q: Do I tell second-half firm about it to force the issue? I've still got several weeks left before I'm done here at second-half firm?

Any news from the other two Dallas offices of the Big Three?

No idea really ... I'm guessing that it was fit or work product related, but some of the departments were really slow all summer. There just wasn't a lot of work to go around.Anonymous User wrote:Any news from the other two Dallas offices of the Big Three?

Correction: Apparently the "no offer" was a "hold" ... so that basically means that BB Dallas, while trying to show a 100% offer rate for NALP purposes, is in fact much closer to an 80% offer rate.Anonymous User wrote:Out of a class of 12 2Ls and 6 1Ls, it is rumored that there was one no-offer and two potential cold offers at Baker Botts Dallas.

Not that I condone this gossip mill/anxiety fest, but if you kids really want to do this right you would have someone collecting the rumors and consolidating them on the front page. Just sayin.

AFAIK, DPW had 100% offers. Everyone got them on their last day at the firm (for most this was August 3rd, but some left earlier).Anonymous User wrote:Any word on the offer rates at Cleary / DPW?

Absolutely not. You have not finished there yet. Trying to force their hand now would show a lack of judgment.kpterrifico wrote:TX split-summer here. Just got an offer from first-half firm.

I think 100% offer is right. There were rumblings of a cold offer that would have been well deserved going around at the end, but I don't think this happened.Anonymous User wrote:Patently wrong. Got an offer today--Small Secondary Southern Market. Will update at end of month but not disclosing market because my firm is the first to make offers. 100% of class though.

Offers went out firmwide at Paul Hastings today... don't know percentages, but hopefully somebody else does?

Baker Botts (Dallas) offered 11/12 2L SAs and 6/6 1L SAs. Word on the street is that a number of the other 2L SAs who received offers, including myself, will accept offers elsewhere.

You are right. 100%. But there should have been two no-offers (one for sure). My second semester grades tanked, so I probably should not say anything other than sometimes 100% includes a lot of generosity and/or else looking the other way.Anonymous User wrote:Patently wrong. Re: Post-SA Offer Status Announcement Thread
Word on the street for BB Houston is 7-8 no offers out of 53 (however, somewhere like 5 of those 53 were 1Ls so not offer eligible).Anonymous User wrote:Baker Botts (Dallas) offered 11/12 2L SAs and 6/6 1L SAs.
