Re: 2012 PMF Applicants
I'm the first person that posted about the blank notice. I got my rejection letter at about 1 am. The form looked substantially like the blank notice except it had some writing after the header.
Oh well, on to other rejections.

How is the interview scheduling progressing? Did anyone find it odd they were renting a hotel for an interview site? Is the government lacking in buildings with conference rooms?

PMF FB: "Within the next 24 hours all semi-finalists for the PMF Class of 2012 will be sent a notice on whether or not selected as a Finalist and listed on the PMF website. Thank you."

Re: 2012 PMF Applicants
It would seem that PMF has a very buggy notification system and will have to re-send the notices telling people if they were selected or not. Source says by COB today.

Congrats to the 2012 finalists! I'm a 2011 PMF, and would be happy to answer any questions about the job fair or the job search process generally.

Did you find that most of the jobs were posted prior to the job fair? For those that were not (or did not select interviewees before the fair) where/when were interviews conducted? About when does hiring start?Anonymous User wrote:Congrats to the 2012 finalists! I'm a 2011 PMF, and would be happy to answer any questions about the job fair or the job search process generally.

Re: 2012 PMF Applicants
Last year, the large majority of jobs were posted in the weeks leading up to the fair, or during the fair itself. For those who didn't post them before, a number of offices would have job descriptions at their booths, would accept resumes there, and would call those they were interested in a few hours later to schedule an interview during the job fair period. The interviews are usually conducted at the fair itself, although some agencies have special open houses during the fair, which give applicants additional opportunities to make contacts and score some interviews. Also, I know some offices did phone interviews for candidates outside of their area, too, if they didn't set up a booth at the job fair. The whole thing is quite different from the standard law school hiring model.Anonymous User wrote:Did you find that most of the jobs were posted prior to the job fair? As for hiring, it starts at the fair. A number of people will walk about with a/multiple offer(s). I didn't have any offers there, but was offered my position about a month after the job fair, for a job I interviewed for at the job fair. I would say nearly all of the hiring takes place in the 6-8 weeks or so following the job fair.

Anybody have any luck at the job fair? People were less hostile to JDs than I was told to expect...
