Lurker from CLS. Please don't be freaks like us. It's too early to worry. I had like 2 CBs after the second day and had 8 by the day after the 4th. Please don't worry now, total waste of energy.

CLS Lurker is 100% spot-on. We have to remember that EIW falls at a really hectic recruiting time for these law firms (i.e. Harvard, BU/BC, several diversity fairs, etc. are all going on simultaneously with our first two days of EIW). Also bear in mind that these past two days (Wednesday and Thursday) are generally the most hectic days of the week in almost any office (broad generalization but still). I think we need to give Wednesday/Thursday firms the weekend to reset and get their bearings from NYU/Harvard/the other schools that had OCI this week.

Everybody should try to relax! This is a top 6 5 law school and we are (1) going to be fine or (2) smart and resourceful enough to make it work if EIW doesn't go 100% as planned.

To put everything into perspective, I spoke to three different HR reps at hospitality suites, and they all mentioned the fact that EIW is right in the thick of recruiting season, and that they had yet to finish up evals, CBs, etc. at other schools (namely Harvard and CLS).

I also know some firms, such as Patterson Belknap, told me that they won't be doing CBs till after Labor Day because Partners are on vacation.

Also, did anyone go to the Shearman reception for people who interviewed with them? What was it like? I was way too exhausted for more socializing, but I'm worried that has hurt my chances.

It was severely understaffed. Even if the event does matter to callbacks and isn't just an opportunity to promote the firm, you're probably not in a worse position than a lot of the people who did go.

If you only have a few, I would schedule them ASAP. If you have a fair number to a lot, you might want to wait a little bit to hear from more of your top choices from the past couple of days and then try to schedule the top priorities before the lower choices. But today is going to be a big day to schedule.

Nope. Left a voicemail along with probably a hundred other law students. What's the protocol here? Wait for a call back? Try them once a day? Don't want to be rude but also don't want to get slotted in October or something.
