What are the thoughts on the silence? Why would the firm hold back when others are giving offers?

Re: Proskauer
Their hiring committee meets on fridays, so I presume offers or dings will come this week for some. Day I was there they had five others interviewing in the afternoon, and I know they had several that morning. So, perhaps just a lot people to sort through.

Are the differences in rankings/prestige enough to have any real effect on exit options, assuming that partner is difficult to make at either firm and thus one probably wouldn't stay at either indefinitely? This is with the assumption that Proskauer has a couple of points that weigh more heavily in its favor, like great people or location, etc.

Post-oci ding for Boston via email today. Not all that helpful for the nyc crowd, but they're moving at some level.

Re: Proskauer
This Saturday is their "super Saturday" for the Newark office, and they will do all their CB's on that one day. (Newark office only does labor and employment work, in case anyone is interested, which is Proskauer's area of expertise). Guess that means there are a select few people participating if its just over one day. I really enjoyed my screening interview visit and I'm pumped for this Saturday. Hope my enthusiasm shows.

Day I was there, at least 9 to 10 or so others doing call backs same afternoon. I get the sense they call back a lot of applicants, far more than some firms and not a high % get offers.

Anyone hear anything today? I was thinking that committee may have met yesterday and did rejections last night and planned to do offers today but it seems like that may be wrong...

8/18 and no response either. It doesn't seem like they've offered many people so I'm wondering if a big wave of offers is coming...

Re: Proskauer
New theory: Proskauer has no new York office. It's all just an elaborate prank by an eccentric millionaire. We're not going to ever receive decisions, but we will get to be on his new hidden camera show's debut episode.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
