A CA firm actually sent me two rejections emails a couple days apart. the first one said we can't offer you an interview. The second one said please see our response attached below (like i didn't know already), and attached was a PDF of the rejection letter they were too cheap to mail lol. To be honest I actually thought it was kind of funny, i mean talk about rubbing your face in it haha

got a letter thanking me for submitting my resume and letting me know my application is under review--guess it's better than an outright rejection

Maybe they were talking about this summer? (Where I intern, someone just applied for an internship- for the summer of 2011. Needless to say, s/he was a tad late.)

E-mailed a V20 firm that doesn't come to our OCI about an in-office screening interview while I'm close to the firm's location for the summer.

Mr. X,

Please let us know if you joined a journal since transferring.

Thanks,

Ouch. One time in junior high school a girl told me to give her a call once I grew taller than her. I went through the same roller coaster of emoticons.

MVP, top 25% grades.

E-mailed about 40 firms in southern california in mid-June. Started hearing back in early July. Still haven't heard from about 30 firms. Have done interviews/lunches with the rest or they've said just wait until we start OCI processes. Was trying to be considerate to firm and let them interview me before I went back to MVP, but most want to wait it seems.

Wow. Wheras my peers in real life mock me for being over-prepared and early, TLS has once again made me feel like I'm already too late.

Not a peep, and I pretty well covered the market.

Do you think there's a good reason to follow up? They obviously have your materials, it's still early in the recruiting process, and they probably are being inundated with applications.

Kind of, with regards to Chitown. Since I am coming from the East Cost, I stated in my materials that I would be in Chicago on certain dates and those dates are now only a few weeks away.

Oh! I see. Yea, if you're going to be in town and indicated as much then I think you have a good reason to follow up.

Kaye Scholer auto emailed their application form to me when I sent my stuff to them last night, so I just filled out the application and now waiting...haven't heard anything in NYC so far (but did get 5 screeners from our NYC interview program). Heard from a couple of regional midlaw firms that they won't start looking at applications until August.
