CLS person here answering the above question: I think grades are def. impt. From CLS, at LEAST top 40% i believe. But fit is also very impt too. I know someone who didn't get one of the big Houston Firms but got a cb at V5 and V15 and a lot of other CBs.

Absolutely. Out of all the firms I interviewed with, establishing a personal report with the Texas recruiters seemed extremely important. Or maybe Doug Bland is just awesome and gives off that social vibe with everyone.

Skadden, Proskauer, Hughes Hubbard did their CBs. I know a handful of other firms did as well, but I forget them off the top of my head because I didn't bid on them.

Quinn Emmanuel had a dinner tonight 8/25
Gibson Dunn had a dinner tonight 8/25 and yesterday 8/24

Initials on HH interviewers? Have both pairs done the callbacks, or just one of the interviewing pair?

Anybody from Michigan around median/just below median on this board? What was your bidding strategy? How do you think your interviews are going?

Slightly above, quite worried - silence so far except email Jones Day NY ding. Primarily NY. Is anybody else really disappointed in the number of NY firms for those around median to target? Even if this were the 2006 hiring model, it seems we would be in big trouble - only like, 1 or 2 median/sub-median-in-the-glory-days firms are participating.

I'm pretty sure 90% of the firms I've bid on that are in NY around median haven't done any cbs yet. For ex: Kramel, Schiff Hardin, Baker & Hostetler, Pillsbury, Mayer Brown, Kasowitz, K&L, Morgan Lewis, Linklaters... I mean the list goes on! don't be sad people! especially not over a handful of firms. They're probably taking this long to decide how much signing bonus is appropriate in order for us to accept!

Some of the firms on this list made cbs today... I know at least 2.

Yes this is true - I few offices I spoke to said it could be up to a couple of weeks for them to extend CBs. I think the anxiety on this thread needs to be toned down a little bit, at least wait a week or so, then start freaking out if you haven't heard anything.
