When the rubber hits the road, only the very tip top of top tier, non T14 students, can dream of getting these jobs.
did you just have an epiphany or something?

Near as I can tell, Duke currently (not sure if this is the final list) has:

167 Job interviewers
124 Individual employers (although I might have over counted a few, I think some are at both round 1 and 2 of OCI. Lets say around 110 to be safe)

Not sure how many interviews that translates to.

Oh, and in case anyone did not know, our class size is 225 (which is big for Duke).
so I guessing some people are kinda screwed in the t14s? What percentage do you estimate at MVP that don't actually have offers?

I'd say the majority of people at T7-14 don't have SA offers.

The Duke data is probably firms, not offices (right Bosque?) If so that's a fine number. The number of unique firms wasn't much over 200 during the boom.

Wait so how many organizations total including multiple offices at Duke. NALP Directory shows 307 organizations including multiple offices for last year’s OCI for Duke.

So does this appear to be a Notre Dame thing, or a T28 thing, or what?

I can't imagine why ND would be worse off than anybody else, but maybe I'm missing something?

Hmmm kinda late to the thread, but... yeah. Very few firms coming to ND OCI. Not good. I just hope some of them actually hire people.

CSO says they are still working to add firms, but I am extremely skeptical.

Here's what I have gathered for Texas

92 unique firms [plus 45 resume collects]
277 firm offices [plus 105 resume collects]
69 non-firm offices [53 of which are our friends at the IRS]

According to NALP, our class size was 384

I'm focusing exclusively on resume collects...that's the ticket this year!

UCLA has total of 163 employers participating at the moment (didnt feel like counting the total offices), about 15-20 seem to just be resume collection, although some note that they will also interview during the early period.

This thread has me seriously depressed. I knew the legal economy was bad... in fact, I knew it was VERY bad... but this hit me like a brick ... I'm seriously thinking of not going at all.

Schools are hurting everywhere (except HYS probs), but ND's is particularly bad.

Well. I would imagine that tippity top of ND is competitive for HYS, and I have a hard time imagining that an HYS transfer wouldn't do allright for himself, even accounting for the fact that transfers are typically looked upon as median students at their new schools.
Pretty sure that's not a fact.
It depends on the school they transferred from. Those from TT or TTT law schools are seen as median, probably. Those who transfer from higher ranked schools are looked upon more favorably and tend to do better at OCI.

Thought I would chime in for anyone not in the Top 20.

Again, I am a 3L...at my T50-100 TTT I was able to compare last year's OCI and this upcoming class of 2012 OCI.

This year 8 less employers are coming and mysteriously, several of the employers for OCI are the type of firms that don't even do traditional SA paths. I think the total unique employers coming is around 40.

I really wish there were more 3Ls on this board who could offer substantive comparisons like that but alas we seem to be a rare or non-existent breed (just like 3L OCI!).

I also take a moment not to gloat or rag on the class of 2012, but I bit my tongue after many well-respected posters on this site continuously predicted for months and months that the class of 2012's OCI would be markedly better than class of 2011's.

Unfortunately for all of us, it seems it will be equally bad, if not worse.

RIP US Legal employment, 1776-2008.
