Embarrassing and frustrating. I'm at one of the major firms that's above $1.5 mil PPP and has not yet matched. I was told yesterday by a partner that we are going to match, it's just that the speed with which the matching happened caught the execs here off guard. They thought they would have more time to sort things out. Our revenue and PPP have increased single or double digits every year for the past several years. I mean, come the f*ck on--there isnt much to figure out.Anonymous User wrote:As someone at a firm that hasn't announced a match yet, this is getting embarrassing.jbagelboy wrote:Lol. Any chance of a hint as to which firm? I'm incoming at a firm that fits that description, and I've heard very little about what's going on with us. If applicable, this would definitely be comforting.Anonymous User wrote:Embarrassing and frustrating. I'm at one of the major firms that's above $1.5 mil PPP and has not yet matched. I'm at a firm that matched earlier this week and from what I heard, it was always a given we would match, but they had to have the entire partnership meet and vote, so it took some time. Didn't make it any less frustrating to be left waiting, but I wouldn't be embarrassed by it.Anonymous User wrote:Embarrassing and frustrating. I know that the management committee at our firm has the power to raise salaries without a partnership vote. But the raise has to come at the recommendation of the compensation committee. We know the people on the comp committee read ATL a few times a day, so they are definitely aware of what is going on. Also, the comp committee likes to announce things like this on Friday, so it seems like it's two more days of waiting for some news.Anonymous User wrote:I'm at a firm that matched earlier this week and from what I heard, it was always a given we would match, but they had to have the entire partnership meet and vote, so it took some time. I'm no longer referring to Orrick as "Orrick." It will be called "Orrick, HerringTTTon & SuTTTcliffe" until management finally remembers it's a V50 firm with over 1.7 mil PPP. And possibly even after that. This is getting ridiculous.

I'm at an amlaw200 with high ppp that starts at 160 (with slightly below market steps thereafter), and I'm doubtful we will raise at all. People come here, in part, to escape the grind at biglaw sweatshops (one of the reasons I came here). So for that reason, I think that we and similar middle of the road firms have less incentive to raise (although they could do a more nominal raise and at least look like they're doing something).cjw564 wrote:Some Am law 200 with over 1.2M ppp are not paying even 160k in ny.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Over/under $1.2M for the highest PPP of a firm that is paying less than $180k for first years in a major market as of July 1?

What the hell is there to "sort out?" Here is the new payscale. It'll be a 4% cut from each of your draws, which is less than the 100% cut if you become rancid and no law student ever wants to come to the firm.Anonymous User wrote:Embarrassing and frustrating.
