re sterne: A friend almost lateraled there a few months ago and they offered him 170k as a second year. My understanding is the scale is much more compressed compared to the typical NY scale

I'm also pretty positive they read this thread so poasting about it in here before you do it probably isn't the best eitherDELG wrote:I think that's exactly how this thread caused cravath to 180Anonymous User wrote:has anyone contemplated sending a screenshot of a fake press release from your firm announcing 180 to ATL just for the lulz? I am not above it.
but ATL calls the firm to confirm so it probably won't work

Mayer Brown matches across all offices. Late to the party, but still there.

it is. The scale gets compressed from that point on. so a third year there would be 180 and a fourth year at 190 or something like that. Not really sure on the exact numbers. FWIW, NALP says first year comp is 160k for sterne kesslerkpterrifico wrote:wasn't 170k market for a second year a few months ago?gk101 wrote:re sterne: A friend almost lateraled there a few months ago and they offered him 170k as a second year. Hopefully this will finally pressure CWT to match all offices.Anonymous User wrote:Mayer Brown to 180!

The question is will CWT boot current associates or incoming associates to pay for it?

That's not really how profits work though. In a time where there's enough work to go around, booting associates would only make things worse. Yeah their salary + any overhead generated is an expense, but they also generate revenue.Anonymous User wrote:The question is will CWT boot current associates or incoming associates to pay for it?

I guess SKGF did raise to 160. I'd trust NALP. I might even check it one day before making salary assertions.gk101 wrote:it is. Incoming associates won't be touched. That's worse than not going to 180. More likely is senior associates not destined for counsel/partnership will be given "the talk" sooner than they might otherwise have.Anonymous User wrote:That's not really how profits work though. Aren't senior associates generally fairly profitable? I guess if you're in a slower practice group maybe, but I can't see that happening in, say, capital markets right now. Axing people who contribute to the bottom line of the firm is not going to help anything.Anonymous User wrote:Incoming associates won't be touched. That's worse than not going to 180. A&P associate, checking in with no match and radio silence from firm management. We deserve as much public shame as possible.

DLA sent separate emails to each office. Mine is Austin. Full Cravath NYC match (with the addition of $325K for c/o 2007). Pretty stoked.
