Re: Pre-OCI 2021
Someone correct me if I'm mistaken - but I believe you're at a slight disadvantage, however the former sentence still applies more to you than the laterAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 3:18 pmhow do you think this would play if I transferred from a school they don't OCI at to a school they recruit very very heavily from in the middle of the interviewing processAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 12:10 pmIt depends on your school, as well. If you're at a school the firm normally does OCI with, then I think you have pretty good chances because they have sought you out knowing that they would probably still see you at OCI if you didn't. But if you're at a school they don't normally do OCI with, then it can still be an uphill battle. I did pre-OCI interviews with a couple of firms that hadn't hired from my school in years and very much got the sense that they would only reach out and give me an offer if they weren't able to fill the slots they needed from OCIs.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 11:20 amVery much not a lock. Chances may be slightly better than regular OCI but not sure that holds water. Clearly if you get a CB this early they’re serious about you but it’s just as competitive as regular OCI in my experienceAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 11:11 amI know this question can't possibly have a great answer, but does anyone have an opinion (hopefully informed) as to how good the offer rate is at this stage for NY firms? Maybe on a scale of "absolute lock" to "would be surprised to get an offer". I've heard its really up to you to not blow the interview

Skadden NYC offer. Tears were shed. Interviewed Tuesday. Lower T14, probably top 5% (school doesn't rank).

This thread is starting to resemble this past Winter OCI thread...
Sorry to break the bad news but most of these firms referenced in this thread have been giving out offers for the past 2 weeks now. Including in DC.
If you don't hear back within 2-3 business days after CB, you're either a) "waitlisted" and will be considered only if enough of their top candidates decline offers; or b) (the more likely scenario) you have already been rejected and recruiting is simply ghosting you. Or you will get a mass email with the other rejected candidates when they decide to send it all out at once.

Neither of those things are universally the case, but TLS wouldn't be TLS without having someone come and spread fear, huh?
Some firms in DC are giving out offers. Most aren't (yet).
Some firms turn around in 2-3 days. Some firms consistently take a week. C'est la vie.

Re: Pre-OCI 2021
Yeah this is pretty much all wrong. Maybe this is true come actual OCI but pre-OCI timelines are a lot different so the comparison to the Winter OCI thread doesn't really hold. Literally today someone reported an offer from DPW over two weeks after CB, and other people have reported rejections from DPW. There's no way that single person could have been waitlisted and gotten an offer after "enough of their top candidates decline[d] offers" given how few interviews they've conducted at this point.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 6:20 pmThis thread is starting to resemble this past Winter OCI thread...

I think a single person (maybe 2?) reported an STB offer even though STB has been interviewing for weeks. Some firms have explicitly instructed interviewees to not be surprised if it takes weeks to hear anything.

Do you think this also applies to firms that say that their decision making process will take a few weeks? I feel like this is pretty firm dependent…Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 6:20 pmThis thread is starting to resemble this past Winter OCI thread...

Safe to assume we won't be seeing much movement tomorrow because of the holiday?

HYS here. White and Case DC offer, Morgan Lewis DC offer. Have heard of movement in SF and NY offices for T5 firms.

Since there's so much DC interest: screener invites at Cleary and Skadden in last 48 hours. Pretty far above top 10% at GULC.

Does anyone have a timeline for STB callback —> offer? And did anyone else get a Cleary CB? For both: relative stats? Thanks!

Yeah I haven't heard from STB for well over a week after my interview, I'd love an offer but I'm not deluding myself that it's coming, at best some waitlist type thing.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:59 amMy dude I know of 5 STB offers at my school alone.
