Yeah, I did early this week. Cancelled my other callbacks and notified callbacks I completed to withdraw candidacy since offer was from my first choice. Socal. Don't want to give more info than that since the market is kinda small.

No problem, thank you for providing the info. If you are comfortable answering, was your call back this week or last week? If not, feel free to disregard.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 4:33 pmYeah, I did early this week. Has anyone had a callback with Fried Frank? I interviewed with them on Thursday, and was told that I would receive an answer one way or the other by Friday, but it has been radio silence so far... I'm assuming that this is a bad sign?

CB with Weil (NY) on Thursday. Told me I'd hear back within 48 business hours. Said would try to get me an answer before weekend (they didn't), but that I should not read into it if I don't hear back until Monday.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:02 pmCB with Weil Gotshal on Friday morning and didn’t hear back, should I assume the worst? I’ve been holding out hope that I wouldn’t have to continue mass mailing this weekend... WIP was a disaster for me.

STB sent a link to get a free item from their website (pre-callback). Cov sent a care package similar to previous years (post-offer).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 1:38 pmWillkie sent Sugarwish for callbacksAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 12:37 pmFreshfieldsAnonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 10:45 pmWhat firms (if any) have sent gift cards for callbacks/offers?

Simpson gift card for callback. You select a Simpson item from their website. Mug, Trade kit, Reading lamp etc... Just small items.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 10:45 pmWhat firms (if any) have sent gift cards for callbacks/offers?

Re: Columbia Law WIP/EIP Jan 2021
it seems like it as they are being conservative handing out callbacks. If you do get one, it seems you have more than halfway there, more so than in previous years it appears.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 10:53 pmIs it actually playing out that the callback to offer ratio is higher for firms this year?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:15 pmYeah, I've heard from three firms from which I got offers now that they're being very cautious this year, especially at first round.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 11:36 amNot OP, but you supported their point. Quick offers probably means that most of the screening happened before callbacks, which means callbacks were offered conservatively.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:08 amReally? If anything, it seems like firms are extending offers very quickly and looking to fill classes in a much accelerated timeline...Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 5:13 amIt looks like firms are extending callbacks very conservatively!

The firm I picked is one of the top firms in CA and I like its culture and operating system best.

do you think they might be interviewing a large amount of candidates first before handing out offers? since they have such a gigantic class size, no movement so far seems jarringAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:58 pmto supplement: STB NY officeAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:57 pmHas anyone gotten an offer from STB yet? From a peer school but I had my STB CB early last week and heard back the next day. But I know some others who had theirs earlier and heard back after more than a week so who knows how long it'll take!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:58 pmto supplement: STB NY officeAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:57 pmHas anyone gotten an offer from STB yet? Now that the dust has settled a bit re: screeners/CBs, does anyone have a sense of how this year shook out? Did it seem like people got fewer screeners and/or CBs than normal, or was everyone worried about nothing? I have heard of people with like 1-2 CBs and others with 15+, but all of that is pure anecdata. Does anyone have a sense of the average number of CBs in prior years?

Honestly it seems more or less the same as previous years. I just think the people who did not do as well as they had hoped are more vocal on these forums.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 2:59 pmNow that the dust has settled a bit re: screeners/CBs, does anyone have a sense of how this year shook out?
