I just got a school email and at the bottom they had a quick tip list of questions to use during an informational coffee or something and one of them is "How do you balance your work load as a 1st year associate with your personal life?"
That seems like an awful question. If you don't even have a real interview you probably shouldn't seem too concerned about your weekends

They did a presentation at my school and if I rember correctly it was an initial screener round and then CB, but that might have been office specific.
Ps: Do you mind me asking when you applied and if you applied directly to a person or through online application?

If you sent your resume to a resume drop for a firm and then the next day you get an e-mail saying they're interested and asking for you to send a cover letter ASAP. Is two days too long?

I foolishly didn't apply to any BL before finals since I thought it was pretty much a lost cause. Got my grades back and they were way better than expected (around top 5%, lower T14), applied to 30+ BL firms in the two markets I'm interested in about a week ago w/ grades, and haven't heard anything except for two dings (firms said they weren't hiring any 1Ls). Is there still hope in getting a 1L SA offer having applied this late? Is it a good sign I haven't received outright dings at most places? BigFed has been similarly fruitless although I expect their hiring timeline is a bit slower. I've applied to other less 'prestigious' 1L jobs but was hoping to see how these pan out first.
