Has anyone started to get packets from the NYC offices? I remember Bronx telling me there was going to be an email sent in February but received nothing.


Also, I think Bronx updated their website? Is this us? I thought the site used to say that more than 1000 apply, 460 seems low.

"Assistant District Attorneys begin employment during the subsequent year and are considered part of a recruitment "Class." Those who were recruited and offered positions in 2015 are considered part of the Class of 2016, reflecting the year during which their employment begins.

In 2015, 460 applicants had first-round interviews, 283 had second (panel) interviews, and 111 were interviewed by the District Attorney. The DA appointed 54 of the original applicants as Assistant District Attorneys for the Class of 2016."

They told me that I should receive information about the office sometime in late March.
And that is us. You missed the previous paragraph where it states that 1,000+ 3Ls did apply.
Less than half (460) received first-round interviews. Typical competitive cycle.

Bronx's website seems to indicate 54 (including myself).
Last year Kings was hiring up to May, but they've been a black box to me this year. I still haven't been rejected after a 2nd round in September.
I wouldn't be surprised if Queens is still figuring out how many they can afford.
DANY I literally have no idea.

An ADA told me over the summer that DANY was planning on hiring a large class - likely around 50. I'm not sure where they got that information or if that's something that would have changed over time.

From talking to ADAs about their hiring timelines, it seems like March offers are incredibly rare - but they do happen.

An ADA told me over the summer that DANY was planning on hiring a large class - likely around 50. I'm not sure where they got that information or if that's something that would have changed over time.

From talking to ADAs about their hiring timelines, it seems like March offers are incredibly rare - but they do happen.

So DANY having a big class, BX with about 50~ as well and another poster ITT said BK was having a big class (though that one is unsubstantiated). Are all the NYC offices having big classes this year?

This is good for those looking for jobs of course. But aren't there plans for NYC budget cuts?

They're looking to hire ~40.

Staten Island is looking to hire ~3.

Bronx: $58M this year, $59.6M next year, requesting additional $11.5M
Brooklyn: $93.4M this year, $94M next year, requesting additional $935k
Manhattan: $98.5M this year, $101.4M next year, requesting additional $600k
Queens: $55.9M this year, $57.3M next year, requesting additional $4.9M
Staten Island: $9.9M this year, $9.9M next year, requesting additional $3.6M

So it looks like every office except Staten Island (at least so far) is actually getting a budget increase. This could indeed bode well for those of us still searching for jobs.
