Zach is right that you should have multiple suits. But there's no need to go out of your way to go suit shopping right now. You're fine.

Nah. Ive walked into a Jos and asked for the suit 2 days from now. They can do it. I think I've had Macy's do a 3 day. If he gets it Monday, it should be done by Thursday if he states that he needs to pick it up Wednesday night or else he's not buying.jbagelboy wrote:Would take a week at least to fit unless you were very luckyJohannDeMann wrote:I agree with this. (Top DC Firm junior associate) Don't worry about no-offers for minor shit. There probably aren't good answers to many of your research assignments because were just giving you shit we can't afford to spend 10 hours futilely researching. Just act professional, within jumping distance of normal, and you should get an offer. If you don't it's because of the cold firm economics that make MPs not care about fucking over peoples' lives.
Seriously, take everything in and attend all the bullshit, but the more generic and vanilla you are in conversing the better chance you have. It's not a callback; they don't have to love you, they just have to not loathe the idea of you working on their floor.
Of course only like 1% of SAs are so weird they don't deserve an offer. If you don't get one it's because you were at a shitty firm and about to board the titanic (or were a litigator). So besides showing up everyday with pants on it has nothing to do with you - just enjoy getting paid to live a lifestyle you'll never live at your firm.

SuitSupply will do same day if you convey desperation and the alterations are relatively minor. Just go do it over lunch and pick it up end of day.

Not sure what kind of paperwork a summer is likely to accumulate but I like your style. Upgrade it to at least a decent bourbon bottle and you've got partner written all over you.Single-Malt-Liquor wrote:But seriously thinking about using a 40oz as a paperweight this summer

Really, just go with the flow of the office, that's the best thing you can do. I think trying to stay for 8 hours is generally a good idea.skers wrote:Yeah, 5 should be your default. 4:30 will work at some places too when you just want to start happy hour early.2014 wrote:If you have nothing to do you should leave at 5 or 5:30, no one is going to care that you left or be impressed you stuck around.

Feel like it's exam day and I'm not prepared.
So it feels like a normal exam day.

It's ridiculously muggy today in DC. Can I carry my suit jacket and wait to put it on until I get to the office?

Way to much work is being expected of me, and its only mostly inconsequential. I am dissapoint.

They might have been referring to the summer in general instead of literally today, you never know. Hopefully that's the case at least.North wrote:Looks like I'm in for a ~working summer~...

And dw sublime you probably will, the 1st or 2nd year will have already done it and passed it on while you were working, and will give you feedback based on whatever they came up with. Par for the course.

What time does everyone go in at?
Do you eat lunch with the summers, or with associates too?
Who brings their lunch? Anyone?
