Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
It probably varies depending on the firm - some who do immediate callback/dings for everybody (e.g. Cleary) probably overbook callbacks so they don't ever have to go back to their ding list (which is what allows them to definitively ding people so quickly). I have heard from people who know people doing hiring (so take that with the appropriately sized grain of salt) that some firms are more conservative in how many cb's they give, so they tend to go to waitlists.
I hear some firms it's ~3-1 chance, others 5-1. But who knows what the full gamut is.

Same. The only DC firm I've gotten movement/CB from is Venable. I spoke with career services and they said DC movement should be from Monday-Friday this week, if previous years are any indication.Anonymous User wrote:What do you guys make of this: I had over 12 interviews, but I have not had any movement whatsoever. I am glad to hear that.Anonymous User wrote:according to OCS, some firms do have a waitlist to fill their gulc quota, and that's why some people might still get cbs late in September.Anonymous User wrote:This is not exactly what a 3L told me. Were there any callbacks or dings from Paul Hastings NY, Orrick NY, Morgan Lewis NY, or Dechert NY this past week? It sounds like many other NY firms responded one way or another but haven't heard anything about the aforementioned firms.... :/

Ah glad to hear that. Do you know anything about the NY firms that were silent this past week (e.g. Paul Hastings)?

Sorry, I don't! I am working mostly within the DC market (home turf for me).

Why do they still make me do that if CB has already decided.
