It's costing non matching firms a lot for associates to sit in their office answering recruiters and refreshing their resumes

Yeah, K&S scale in ATL is 135, 140, 150. Which is laughable for their PPP.Anonymous User wrote:Idk about A&B, but when I received an offer from K&S Atlanta in the fall, they were still at $135k.Capitol_Idea wrote:Maybe post-recession, but this says they raised to 145K at one point.Generally wrote:Atlanta is still $135 I thought?Capitol_Idea wrote:Last time around they waited two months, and didn't uniformly go to 160. I think this is right. But the shops that more directly compete with GP firms for associates have more reason to match. I'd think Fish and Finnegan would match. Don't have much of a guess for the other boutiques.androstan wrote:Pretty sure Sterne is at 145 right now, like many of the DC IP boutiques.goodxkarma wrote:I bet Sterne will. Also interested in Miami. Any one have any info?
As far as I know, Hogan and Baker, which were previously at 145, will increase pay but not up to NY (probably around 160 or so). W&C Miami seems to be playing wait-and-see, but was at 155 previously (10k above market) and will will likely do something similar to what Hogan and Baker are doing. That leaves DLA and MWE as the only firms (aside from Boies and Weil) who could match 180 and pressure the others to follow (but I doubt it). It will be interesting to see if the Florida-based firms that are paying 145 -- HK, Bilzin, GT, Akerman, etc. -- will feel the need to raise.

I don't have info on Miami, but as a secondary market person myself I assume salaries will go, for example, from 145k to like 155k or 160k. I think the point is that the offices in secondary markets still have to be attractive enough to good students to lure them away from larger cities.Anonymous User wrote:Also interested in Miami. Same. If they are at 160 it was a fairly recent development.Anonymous User wrote:Did they increase in past 12 months? has anyone contemplated sending a screenshot of a fake press release from your firm announcing 180 to ATL just for the lulz? I am not above it.
