Last time around they waited two months, and didn't uniformly go to 160. It took them 7 months just to get Atlanta up to 145K. I wouldn't hold my breath for A&B TO 180!!!Actus Reus wrote:Alston probably going to flip the Bird at its associates.Anonymous User wrote:Thoughts on whether Alston & Bird might match, or at least bump associates' salaries?

Now that the important stuff is out of the way...anyone have an idea where the Cleveland and Pittsburgh markets will go?

I can't make Vedder Price jokes for the same reason I can't tell anyone that one of the partners at my firm looks like Val Venis. No one would know what I was talking about.

Do people think fish and richardson will move soon? Although not atop of Vault, it does pride itself as tops in IP, and it seems most firms with comparable IP lit practices have already matched.

Given Fish's reputation in the IP community, I'd be VERY surprised if they don't raise.Anonymous User wrote:Do people think Fish and Richardson will move soon? Don't they pay below market in NY and Philly anyway? I'd imagine any movement in Philly will come from Dechert or MLB. If Philly goes to 180, I wouldn't be surprised if they upped to 160 in Philly and NY.Anonymous User wrote:Do people think that Duane Morris will move? Asking for a friend.

1st years will make less than summer associates at the firms paying $3,500 a week to their summers. As a first year I'm not sure whether I should laugh or cry.Actus Reus wrote:Looks like covingTTTon summers still underpaid by $35 per week compared to others paying 3,500 a week.

Fish and Finnegan can't not raise at this point.
I wonder if Knobbe/Sterne/Sughrue/Oblon/etc. will raise though.

At this point it seems like all the previous market firms will raise at least in major markets.Anonymous User wrote:Do people think Fish and Richardson will move soon? Yeah, wait, when I was a summer I got paid a pro-rated 160k salary (actually maybe ever so slightly over). Isn't $3500 a week like getting paid $182,000 a year?

I bet Sterne will. IP boutiques with strong litigation practices have every reason to move, since many of their GP competitors are moving.
Not sure about the others, or about how much precedent there is for prosecution-heavy firms to raise.

Maybe post-recession, but this says they raised to 145K at one point.Generally wrote:Atlanta is still $135 I thought?Capitol_Idea wrote:Last time around they waited two months, and didn't uniformly go to 160. any mcguirewoods associates here? Our firm broke $1,000,000 in PPP for the first time this year and had a very, very good year last year. Am law #68. In spite of that, compensation didn't even meet the old market standard, especially for bonuses. with the new market, the chasm has only grown lolz.

Idk about A&B, but when I received an offer from K&S Atlanta in the fall, they were still at $135k.Capitol_Idea wrote:Maybe post-recession, but this says they raised to 145K at one point.Generally wrote:Atlanta is still $135 I thought?Capitol_Idea wrote:Last time around they waited two months, and didn't uniformly go to 160. I wish CWT would just raise NY already. Charlotte can stay at 160 for a couple years, they'll be fine.

Partners probably don't want to dip below that 1M PPP. I see a CovingTTTon (circa the last week) move perhaps.Anonymous User wrote:any McGuireWoods associates here?
