Akin Gump matched all offices? Is this the first Philly to 180, or do we not trust ATL?

Technically Hogan also matched, but judging by their website, they have no associates in their Philly office, only partners and counsel. I think Akin does specialty patent work in their Philly office, so it doesn't really push the Philly firms to raise because they don't really compete for the same talent.

Mayer Brown can go fuck right off. Last Chicago player still digging in its heels. Kirkland, Sidley, Winston, Jenner, and Baker & McKenzie have all matched. Embarrassing...

There is no way. It is just taking them longer. No way they will not match. There would be partners thrown off the Pru.
That's why Boston is a match for sure. Their statement talked about letting each office know individually.
That was for non-partnership track attorneys (i.e., non-associates, whom they call "attorneys" depending on role). They are matching in all US offices for their associates.

Or are you guys seriously reading into the fact that Malt didn't spell out the salary table in his email to suggest that they are going to "adjust" but not match Cravath?
yes
How does one read that memo and come away with the impression that they are doing anything other than matching?

We are pleased to announce that base salaries for our partnership-track US associates, including summer associates, will be adjusted effective July 1, 2016 in line with recent market changes. Our career attorneys and other associates and counsel are compensated in accordance with their respective markets, so their compensation is different, and will be communicated to them separately.
Now that I read it again, I guess "career attorneys" is a specific term and not just referencing "partnership-track" associates by another name. Still, it would have been much easier if they'd just spelled it out with a chart.

I'm not sure what to make of it, but aside from Winston, none of the market-paying firms with Charlotte offices have announced, even ones you would have expected to announce quickly, looking at you CWT. These offices are mostly small outposts, so I wouldn't think it would be a holdup. Nonetheless, MB, CWT, and Dechert have all been silent.

CWT's got somewhere in the vicinity of 60 attorneys there.

Didn't realize it was that high. I can see how it is a bit of a holdup for them.

MB only has ~10 associates in Charlotte so I doubt that's it. Accurate or not, they like to play that "we're very financially conservative" schtick so it makes sense they would move slower. But this is getting silly.

This list of V50s who haven't matched yet was posted in another thread. Presumably WH and Goodwin will move now that Ropes has. Which leaves JD, MB, and A&P as sort of noticeable outliers among firms who haven't yet matched. Almost all the others have large international presences, big Southern offices, or financial questions (e.g. K&L).

Edit: On second thought, JD has a pretty large Atlanta office too, and it already pays above market.
