Has anybody gotten an offer from a Norton Rose CB interview earlier this week? Also, has anybody heard anything at all from Allen & Overy?

What firms (if any) have sent gift cards for callbacks/offers?

Is it actually playing out that the callback to offer ratio is higher for firms this year?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:15 pmYeah, I've heard from three firms from which I got offers now that they're being very cautious this year, especially at first round.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 11:36 amNot OP, but you supported their point. Quick offers probably means that most of the screening happened before callbacks, which means callbacks were offered conservatively.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:08 amReally? Re: Columbia Law WIP/EIP Jan 2021
May I ask what a second round is? And when does that happen when the deadline to accept other offers is in the very beginning of February? I feel that this cycle more than previous ones, favors the Kents of this world/otherwise highly attractive candidates. I think some firms will be crawling back trying to get people to accept offers, but all the next group of good candidates would be gone.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:15 pmYeah, I've heard from three firms from which I got offers now that they're being very cautious this year, especially at first round.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 11:36 amNot OP, but you supported their point. Has anybody gotten an offer from Norton Rose this week? They told us we would be finding out on Friday, but haven't heard anything yet (assuming I'm not getting an offer)

Are honors calculated the same way in 2L/3L? Is Stone still 3.41 or are there some other elements involved in the calculation? I am just surprised that not many more people make honors in 2L/3L. Is there some kind of curve applied to select people that reach the GPA for honors?

CB with Weil Gotshal on Friday morning and didn’t hear back, should I assume the worst? I’ve been holding out hope that I wouldn’t have to continue mass mailing this weekend... WIP was a disaster for me.

For offers extended Friday afternoon / evening, is it typical not to get a formal offer letter until Monday? Guessing that recruiting teams aren’t doing a ton of administrative work over the weekend?

I mean, always plan ahead, but that seems a little alarmist: It has not even been one business day. Some firms have quick turnaround; others have said explicitly it takes a while. Not sure how Weil works, but some firms only meet once a week for hiring.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:02 pmCB with Weil Gotshal on Friday morning and didn’t hear back, should I assume the worst? What do you mean that WIP was a disaster for you? Was Weil your only callback? Have you set up a meeting with OCS? I recommend Marta or Kerman.

I appreciate the advice - I’ll set something up with OCS if I don’t hear back from Weil early next week.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:10 pmI mean, always plan ahead, but that seems a little alarmist: It has not even been one business day. I bid conservatively with a 3.4-3.5 (no stone first year though), did numerous practice interviews, and felt pretty good. Then I had 30 screeners turn into 4 callbacks, and haven’t heard back from any of the 4. The first three I interviewed with last week and haven’t heard back from so Weil felt like my last hope.

TBH 4 callbacks from 30 screeners seems like within the range of normal this year. It has been really weird (read: bloodbath).

I interviewed with them Wednesday and also was told explicitly that I'd hear back from them either way by Friday, weak move from NRFAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 4:02 amHas anybody gotten an offer from Norton Rose this week? At a peer school. Weil told me that they make decisions within 48 hours. I took that to mean 48 business hours and received an offer at the tail end of 48 hours so hang tight.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:16 pmI appreciate the advice - I’ll set something up with OCS if I don’t hear back from Weil early next week.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:10 pmI mean, always plan ahead, but that seems a little alarmist: It has not even been one business day. Hello from NYU. Pretty much the exact same situation, except Weil CB was on Thursday. Almost certain I'll be a ding at this point. There have been reports of Weil giving acceptances on two days later, so I don't think you should write them off yet.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:16 pmI appreciate the advice - I’ll set something up with OCS if I don’t hear back from Weil early next week.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:10 pmI mean, always plan ahead, but that seems a little alarmist: It has not even been one business day.
