I get that, but if being respectful for ten minutes was out of the question, then they should have consulted with their PR team before deciding to host a hospitality suite.QContinuum wrote:I'm sorry. My GPA is above their 75th percentile, so I definitely don't think it's a GPA thing.

Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
Do people know whether there’s a downturn in hiring. Every year there are about 275 Georgetown students who don’t get jobs through OCI and many of them vent there frustrations on this page. I think it’s to early to know whether there is a downturn in hiring. Many of the people who are doing really well don’t post on TLS. Plus, the firms that I spoke too said the plan on having the same class size as last year.Anonymous User wrote:Another possible explanation is that there's a downturn in hiring this year due to warnings of a recession.Anonymous User wrote:It's beyond their control to some extent. We have stats on the expected class sizes for 2020 somewhere, and I actually recall there being an upward trend.Anonymous User wrote:Do people know whether there’s a downturn in hiring. There are definitely a sizeable number of firms that are downsizing their classes -- don't know if the number of SAs overall is downAnonymous User wrote:We have stats on the expected class sizes for 2020 somewhere, and I actually recall there being an upward trend.Anonymous User wrote:Do people know whether there’s a downturn in hiring. The point is that no one should be basing their projections based on what’s posted on the TLS page. I know people who already received offers and people who have received 8+ CB’s who do not post on this page.Anonymous User wrote:There are definitely a sizeable number of firms that are downsizing their classes -- don't know if the number of SAs overall is downAnonymous User wrote:We have stats on the expected class sizes for 2020 somewhere, and I actually recall there being an upward trend.Anonymous User wrote:Do people know whether there’s a downturn in hiring. What does it mean if ding emails have been sent out and you haven't gotten one?
Does it mean your B list and there's hope or does it mean you just haven't been dinged yet.

Anyone heard anything about Skadden London or have any instincts on it? Dinged from DC office but heard nothing from or about London, can't help being hopeful. Interviewed a week ago today. Nobody I know has heard anything.

Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
Honestly, what happens mostly is that firms just ask for whoever and whichever attorneys are available to come to the hospitality suite, so it's not usually going to be a situation where the firm is selecting their best-foot-forward folks--sometimes, some real turds show up to those things. Sorry about your experience, don't let it reflect too heavily on the firm. If you spoke to a recruiter at the hospitality suite, they are usually the ones with more pull over who should be interviewed from the non-interviewees that show up at the suites (unless you speak to a hiring attorney).Anonymous User wrote:I get that, but if being respectful for ten minutes was out of the question, then they should have consulted with their PR team before deciding to host a hospitality suite.QContinuum wrote:I'm sorry.
