Are people still expecting CBs at this point? I've pretty much written off receiving any more CBs from anywhere, but maybe that's because I mostly bid NY which generally has fast turnarounds

Re: 2012 Penn OCI Thread
from my observations, it doesn't seem like firms are working in a 3-part system (ding some, call back some, hold some)...it seems like firms are just calling back who they want and then letting the rest sit. I personally still have over 15 firms to hear from (mostly in NY), and have only received dings from 3....I am assuming they are waiting to see how many people given callbacks actually attend (since some of those who have scheduled will cancel if they accept another offer first)....but my intuition tells me if it has been more than 10 days, in all likelihood it is a ding.

I wouldn't write anything off until you hear one way or another, even for NYC firms.Anonymous User wrote:Are people still expecting CBs at this point? I've pretty much written off receiving any more CBs from anywhere, but maybe that's because I mostly bid NY which generally has fast turnarounds

that firm was at OCI last wednesday, that's definitely within the realm of possibility. i think people are writing off the firms from the first week of OCI at this pointAnonymous User wrote:Patterson Belknap call back by phone. Don't despair yet! NY firms are still makin initial call backs!

Of the first week firms, I'm fairly certain Stradley is still in play (99% certain they haven't gotten back to anyone yet).Anonymous User wrote:that firm was at OCI last wednesday, that's definitely within the realm of possibility. i think people are writing off the firms from the first week of OCI at this pointAnonymous User wrote:Patterson Belknap call back by phone. Re: 2012 Penn OCI Thread
Averages aren't helpful, as a relatively small number of students (people toward the top) get a disproportionate number of CBs. I'm guessing median is in the 3-5 range.Anonymous User wrote:So any consensus as to what the average number of callbacks is this year?
