Re: Harvard Law School EIP 2010 Callback Thread
I'm looking at other years too, for reference. It seems fairly unclear - some firms are quite different last year as opposed to other years. But, remember that last year was full of layoffs, so we may have a better shot this year. Plus, theoretically the firms should figure out at some point how many CBs to make for the number of offers they want to give in the current economy, so that might help us on the CB -> offer ratio.Anonymous User wrote:McDermott Boston CB by phone.
Anyone have any sense how closely the callback/offer numbers will mirror last year? Looking at the spreadsheet for some of my CBs freaks me out a little...

which firms are you interested in?Anonymous User wrote:Not HLS here, another boston school. Our OCI doesn't give that kind of data -- just out of curiosity, can you share some of the numbers you're getting from HLS for boston firms? Obviously won't match up at my school, but might give me a sense of what to expect or not.Anonymous User wrote:McDermott Boston CB by phone.

Re: Harvard Law School EIP 2010 Callback Thread
One of the firms I haven't heard from (but other classmates have) had two associates interviewing me and no partners. Other students had a partner and an associate. Is this a bad sign? Do partners have a lot more sway in terms of pushing for an an interviewee to get a callback? I thought the interview went well, and I think I have the grades, so I'm worried about not hearing anything.

Re: Harvard Law School EIP 2010 Callback Thread
I absolutely HATED having associates interview me, the difference between an associate and a partner is that an associate will not want to look bad so they will advocate for the people with the best grades, the partners can overlook average grades and advocate for you if they feel you are a good fit. Associates don't have the balls to advocate for anyone, they just find the best transcript and push that. Two of my three CB were solely attributed to a partner liking my personality because I clearly did not have the grades....

Doubt this is true, even for firms. And has anyone heard back at all from any of the public service interviewers yet?Anonymous User wrote:Well that's about it for callbacks I believe....
