Tell them its an interview suit for law/banking (there pretty much the same) whether you want navy or charcoal and they will measure you and get you the perfect fitting suit. No need to spend 5- 600 on the BB name when your really just buying it for fit (ie not a fashion suit) for the same 5-600 you can get a perfect fitting interview suit and theres no need for alterations
very good my cousin just did his wedding tux there and im going in next week to get my interview suit fitted.
Theyll last you an easy 5-10 years

Aren't you a big lawler? Feel like you should know what's appropriate. But in my humble rising 2L opinion, they look fine.Fresh Prince wrote:Are these shoes work appropriate? http://www.mrporter.com/product/348015

Anyone have recommendations on where to buy big and tall dress pants?
I get my first paycheck next week and need to buy new stuff asap. I'm tired of having shitty fabric JAB stuff

Too casual for my firm on any day but Friday, and I probably wouldn't wear them then, either. But I can imagine that they'd be fine in more casual markets or firms.Fresh Prince wrote:Are these shoes work appropriate? http://www.mrporter.com/product/348015

So it sounds like Suitsupply is really popular. I need a solid navy suit and a solid gray suit but i don't want it to look like eurotrash/GQ.
Any tips on which lines are firm appropriate and which I should steer clear from?

Go see Sammy at Capitol Hill Tailor Shop - 6th and Penn SE. He's the man. Prices can be a bit steep for suits but you get what you pay for.hdivschool wrote:Can anyone recommend a good tailor in DC?

If you have the money, Siena MTM is TCR. But not everyone has 1K+ to drop on a suit. As far as some of the cheaper cuts, Sevilla, London and Napoli are really great notch lapel cuts. If you wanna go more fashion forward, with peak lapels, Washington is good (but avoid the Washington Half. Those look ridiculous).
Also, if you're going to buy OTR, make sure the sleeves fit. All Suitsupply suits have working buttons, so shortening the sleeves has to be done at the shoulder. That type of tailoring is crazy expensive, and a lot of tailors can't do it right.

Never do peak lapels for "OCI/callbacks/etc."

wow the suitsupply sizing guide has me at a really small size (34). I went a size "up" and ordered a 36 (online) but i'm a little worried that it'll be too tight.
Does anyone have experience with their size advisor? Or can anyone weigh in on how tight they run?

What line? The Napoli I have is cut pretty slim but if you went up a size I think it should still be great. I know some of the other lines are a bit more generous.mr.hands wrote:wow the suitsupply sizing guide has me at a really small size (34). Yeah the Napoli. I usually wear a 38, which I'm happy with on my other suits. A 36 may be pushing it. I don't want to look like a hipster at OCIwvuchip wrote:What line? Both the online size advisor and the salesperson recommended one size smaller than I normally wear and it is pretty fitted but it is my correct size through the shoulders and chest. They have the dimensions for each size on the website, if you use the size advisor it is the other tab in the popup window. A bigger concern if you don't want to "look like a hipster" is that their jackets are pretty short.

Their 36 fits me well, whereas JCrew and BB 36s are too small for me.mr.hands wrote:wow the suitsupply sizing guide has me at a really small size (34). I went a size "up" and ordered a 36 (online) but i'm a little worried that it'll be too tight.

They just did 3 for $99 which is as low as they go. 4 for 150 is decent but not spectacular. They are everyday priced at 2 for 95 so you save $40. They are good shirts for the price.chem wrote:Is this a good sale for JAB traveler shirts?

Re: OCI/callbacks/etc Men's Clothing Mega-thread
So, I'm probably worrying about nothing but I'm wondering if before OCI I should run out to get more nice clothes. I recently got a suit from Indochino and it fits great and looks great (http://www.indochino.com/product/The-Es ... rcoal-Suit or so for reference) and already have another charcoal suit and a black suit with light white pinstripes (both off the rack with minor tailoring). I also recently got a pair of http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/pr ... 0000001_-1 in dark brown and have an old beat up pair of Johnston and Murphy shoes (not very nice, I probably won't wear them again). I'm wondering if I need additional suits and shoes or if I'm just worrying for nothing? (I know I need belts and shirts, but that's less of an issue for now)
Thanks!
