Has anyone gotten a CB or a ding after giving your resume to a firm at their hospitality suite?

Also, were they from your screener, or were they from recruiting?

Nope, dropped off resume and was grilled by attorney for over half an hour, but didn't hear anything

I had one firm legit tell me not to bother dropping off a resume and to just submit online. Clearly didn't want to talk to me, and it couldn't have been because of my grades because they didn't even look at my resume.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone gotten a CB or a ding after giving your resume to a firm at their hospitality suite?

I think there were two rounds. I got one about an hour ago, but I've heard a different round went out a couple of days ago.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Covington ding

Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
I got three left to hear from:
Cadwalader DC (apparently they take literally 1 SA, so not surprising that their process is longer)
Skadden DE (heard CBs went, expecting a ding)
Winston & Strawn NY (thought my interview went really well, and haven't heard of any CBs from them, but at this point not expecting it).
So I got 2/10, assuming I don't snag one of those three. Meh, could be worse I guess.

Love that . . . I also met some pretty rude legal recruiting people in hospitality suitesAnonymous User wrote:I had one firm legit tell me not to bother dropping off a resume and to just submit online. Any idea when DLA ones were sent out and if they're giving dings? That was my #1 and I was really hoping for them, but since they're pretty competitive I'm not surprised. Ghosted as of now.Anonymous User wrote:There have been callbacks for Morrison, DLA Piper, and Clifford Chance sent out.Anonymous User wrote:In the spirit of sharing, I have heard from the following DC firms:

Problem with DLA is that their summer class is so smallJaneaustengal wrote:Any idea when DLA ones were sent out and if they're giving dings? Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
I talked to two attorneys at one hospitality suite and when I mentioned I didn't have an interview, one of them took my resume and suggested to the other attorney that they interview me on the spot. In response, she made a face to indicate she did not intend to do that. I thought it might have been because there was one other GULC student in the room, so I stuck around and talked to them for 10-15 minutes. She proceeded to take over the entire conversation and brag to me extensively about her expensive house. We literally did not talk about the firm or anything else at all, because she wouldn't let me get a word in. When I left, she seemed amused when saying "it was great to meet you."
My GPA is above their 75th percentile, so I definitely don't think it's a GPA thing.

Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
I'm sorry. Maybe they'd already filled up all their GULC CB slots. Or maybe the other attorney just made a "gut feeling" judgment. Unlike law school admissions, OCI hiring is idiosyncratic. In the mine run of firms, we can say that, e.g., the top 10% at GULC will do great at OCI. But that doesn't guarantee an offer or even just a callback from any given firm.Anonymous User wrote:I talked to two attorneys at one hospitality suite and when I mentioned I didn't have an interview, one of them took my resume and suggested to the other attorney that they interview me on the spot. Based on my and my friends' experience last year, the whole thing about hospitality suite is a scam, 99% of us won't get anything out of visiting it via those embarrassing chats with the people there.
