Is this just firms that have done offers? Or are you holding 9 offers?
This offer list is woefully underinclusive.
Then post which firms you know have given offers.

Dechert offers were via phone.

This thread should be saved for future prospective 1Ls. If anyone has any doubts as to why Cornell is probably one of the best options for NYC Big Law, this is it right here. I know people way below median in the bottom 25% that are holding onto multiple offers.

As much as I loathe Cornell Law School, I agree with the person above. I have 8 offers from V20 and above firms and I'm otherwise pretty much square in the middle of the class. I talked to a friend at NYU and I think it's our size that helps so much.

I think there's some sort of nalp rule about not having more than 5 offers open. Also... Congrats!

What exactly makes you "loathe" Cornell?

Different anon here, but I would imagine the cliquey, elitist, high schoolish atmosphere plays a part in many people's oft-felt disgust with the place.

That said, great job prospects. Go Cornell.

Except this atmosphere is present to mildly varying extents in every other elite law school. My friend at Georgetown is an extremely social person and hangs out regularly with under 10% of his class. The cliquiness is real but if you have some good friends it's not a major negative.

sounds like they would hate any other law school and all just ended up at Cornell

Anon from earlier who originally pointed out Cornell Law's good job prospects. Agree with pretty much all that was said above.

To be honest, we all go to law school to get legal jobs, and I couldn't imagine going to a place better for that. But you'd have to be kidding yourself if you believed the "instruction to be strong" or if you genuinely believed Cornell values diversity and its student's well being. It is no wonder why so many students are willing to transfer and forgo scholarship money for schools like NYU and Columbia (which are hardly prestige transfers).

People transfer because they don't want to live in Ithaca.

I got what I needed from the place but wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's horribly caddy and people are insecure and pretentious. There are some diamonds in the rough and solid faculty, but not as many as I hoped. To the point above, I'm sure it sucks everywhere. Either way, I'm excited to return and do little work and spend more time away from school

...Anyways... *** so, would people say that 1 week is the average turnaround for getting an offer from a cb? i feel like--and correct me if im wrong--that the posts in this thread are largely only those who got same-day offers...and thus not truly representative.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
