I suspect they'll be falling all over themselves to match Gibson's rise to 180 in its Denver office.
Are you saying you don't think these firms will bump up at all given nationwide rise? 1st year Salary at these firms was 140ish before so not like they're a backwater dump. Including bennies and 401k match my all in 1st year offer was just shy of 160. And also because of way lower leverage their PPP will drop a lot less than almost all firms itt.

Just leads me to think they would at least do something? I'm an incoming first year so not privy to the rumblings around the office yet

With recruiting bid lists due shortly at many schools, you'd have to expect something soon.
I think they just operate at their own pace. For better or for worse, they don't GAF about public perception. Internally, attorneys will forgive and forget once they announce all raises retroactive to July 1, which I know they will.
Actually JD is the only V55 not to move now I think, GT also hasn't moved yet or it would be V60...
I think K&L and Linklaters also have not moved yet

We Miamians are notoriously late to everything.... Maybe that's why GT and Miami generally hasn't raised... yet. Has to be it.

K&L matched first years last week but the rest is black box. Probably the same thing that JD will do?

Thoughts on if Foley and Lardner will match in all major markets? I would expect they'd have to if they want to retain talent. What about Milwaukee on one hand being 20-40k below Chicago and yet Milwaukee being the mothership.

Other side is, what will they do in secondary markets? Bump them all up by the cravath increase amount yet still below NYC values - so Detroit goes to ~160k

At least for NY, not sure about other offices. Reliable source.

I highly doubt it. Although there is a rumor in the PGH office that they were thinking about it for NYC.

That would make sense, given that some other offices got raises within the last year/NYC hasn't moved in a while.

I'd be surprised if RS/KL didn't match in NYC. Not expecting a match or bump anywhere else tho.

How compressed are the non-NYC-salary scales, even the ones that start at 180K?

I was under the impression Chicago, SF, DC and LA generally followed the scale all the way up (although I've heard conflicting reports on this).

Smaller markets either start lower with very small raises (like 135K maxing out a 160K or something) or start at 180/160K with much smaller raises.

Is that pretty accurate?
