Are we expecting much movement from firms on the weekend? Will they be extending call back invitations today and tomorrow or will they leave it until Monday?

I think last year's thread showed some movement on the Saturday after EIW.Anonymous User wrote:Are we expecting much movement from firms on the weekend? Will they be extending call back invitations today and tomorrow or will they leave it until Monday?

Mostly dings, though. Sadly, any firms we're holding out on (with the exception of Thurs/Fri interviews MAYBE) have likely gone through their first round of callbacks. Even if a later callback comes in, we're fighting up-hill against all the people who got callbacks earlier and thus get a first bite at the apple for offers.

What is a "ding"? I keep seeing that word and I can't quite place what it means.
Also, how early are people scheduling their call backs? I schedule them as early as I can, but the firms keep saying the earliest they're available is not next week but the week after next. I'm wondering if there are people getting in before me (and going on call backs next week).

ding = a firm's response that goes something along the lines of 'Thank you for your interest in our firm but we'd prefer if you went and died in a hole somewhere. kthxbye."Anonymous User wrote:What is a "ding"? I keep seeing that word and I can't quite place what it means.

Other schools have gotten callbacks before GULC, meaning they can schedule callbacks first, which also means they might get offers first. Hooray!

Did anyone who went to the Norton Rose dinner on Monday night get any more contact from the firm?

Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
So what? GULC quotas are pretty consistent across firms; other schools receiving cbs doesn't really affect us at the vast majority of biglaw firms. It MAY affect us at boutiques, but these usually make offers after all apps are in.Anonymous User wrote:ding = a firm's response that goes something along the lines of 'Thank you for your interest in our firm but we'd prefer if you went and died in a hole somewhere. kthxbye."Anonymous User wrote:What is a "ding"? What do you guys make of this: I had over 12 interviews, but I have not had any movement whatsoever. No dings, no cbs, just silence. All DC/MD/VA firms.
