Could it work unfavorably for OCI next year to bother by sending them grades? Hoping there is a .0001% chance they change their mind when seeing good grades....
No, don't bother people that already dinged you.

Paterson Belknap might as well, though I can't get confirmation.

Good luck to everyone who tries (and if you get the job, you owe me a beer)
Which office for Ropes?
NYC.

Basically, I learned that even though they officially don't take 1Ls, somehow there are a few every year
A few weeks ago I sent them a resume through their online application form and got a polite message within a few days saying they currently had no openings for 1Ls.

And I heard from an attorney there that they don't have openings for 1Ls, but there are a few each year anyway (he couldn't tell me how they got there, though)

S&C asks for a transcript from everyone so I think it's more like a weeding out process.

Yeah, it is possible; however,my school name should have been sufficient to ding me outright.

So this is a super dumb question, but um, when employers ask for a transcript, they're only talking about 1L first semester grades, right? No undergrad nonsense, correct?

Some wanted both but they always specified undergrad and law school.

Have an inside source at SC and this is what they told me.

If they reply right away (assuming you applied sometime in December) asking for your grades when you get them, then that means they actually are interested in you.

However, if you send your app in December and then you get a grade request or reminder in January, then that's a formality.

Leaning towards formality ...sent email 1/16 and got response asking for transcript 1/21

Got a transcript request in early December then was dinged by mail in January before I sent in grades.

So, I emailed firms before I got my grades...it's been radio silence... Do I wait for transcript request or do I email my transcript unsolicited?

Did they ask for a transcript? I personally waited for requests.

No.... In your case, how long was it in b/w when you emailed and when they asked for a transcript?

Update them with the transcript now. Waiting makes no sense.

The shortest was within a week. The longest was about five weeks. If your grades are good, why not send them.

Might as well reply to the original message but it isn't necessarily threaded on their end. Something like this: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 0#p6312813

Interviewing for an in-house position. Assuming they ask for long-term career plans, is it okay to say big law in a different market? They don't expect me to say your market/your company right?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
