Places that haven't dinged us or offered CBs, while doing one or both for other people--what gives? Are they waiting to see how many people schedule CBs, or how many offers they give during CBs, to make a decision?

thought they don't have to ding you. if they go radio silent, it means you are dinged. no?Anonymous User wrote:Places that haven't dinged us or offered CBs, while doing one or both for other people--what gives? Re: HLS EIP 2015
i was wondering about that too. ocs' email urging people to promptly turn down excess CBs & a couple of blogposts made it seem like firms will go to back ups if they get enough declines.

That's much more common with clerkships. With firms, you'll usually hear something.Anonymous User wrote:thought they don't have to ding you. if they go radio silent, it means you are dinged. no?Anonymous User wrote:Places that haven't dinged us or offered CBs, while doing one or both for other people--what gives? However, they will make sure enough people have accepted CBs first.
And some firms (last year, for example, both A&P and Boies in DC) are kind of disorganized and don't send anything.
(Wilmer DC sent out three separate rejection emails to the same people last year--that was fun.)

A ton of firms do rejections by snail mail at the end of the month.

Yes, for NY and TX if you did interviews every day and haven't received any callbacks by now, you should start mass mailing. You want to get in on the regular recruiting process this week and next so you can avoid recruiters filling their slots and/or wondering why you're still on the market.

Re: HLS EIP 2015
DC takes a lot longer, but if you have zero callbacks by the end of today I would still begin reaching out to more firms this weekend. And consider reaching for other markets; DC only gets tougher if you don't get callbacks from EIP.Anonymous User wrote:This advice for DC also?TripTrip wrote:My condolences.Anonymous User wrote:Welp. no CBs yet. mainly bid in NY and Texas. Don't panic though. You will get a job. You just don't want to wait until next weekend to begin mass mailing because it starts to become late in the process.

feeling pretty defeated at this point. And I know it's my grades that are holding me back, hence there is not much I can do about them at this point.TripTrip wrote:Anonymous User wrote:TripTrip wrote:Don't panic though. not sure how truthful this is. But a rising 3L told keeps reassuring me that A LOT ( around 50%) CBs happen between friday and sunday. So maybe there are still some hopeAnonymous User wrote:What about LA? I've had radio silence from there.

For NY people, do we pretty much have all of the callbacks we are going to have and then maybe a couple from Friday?

Has anyone heard back from any Texas firms? They seem to be taking forever... I'm really interested in Locke Lord and haven't heard a peep, but I hear that they haven't called back anyone else. Can they just not give anyone callbacks?
