Anyone heard of calls (offers) being made to Criminal Division finalists?

They appear to be rolling them out a few at a time. Mine just switched. No phone call yet!

Question for thread: is civil worth foregoing a $50k clerkship bonus?

ATR(DC): My status just updated to Finalist in the last 5 min or so. Haven't gotten a call, but at least it is something!

ETA: I did not get an email, but it could be on a delay before the email arrives.

That really depends on what you'd like long term. Check the GS pay scale to see where you would stand in terms of final pay. The promotions from GS-11 to GS-12 happen quickly but GS-13 and on would only occur with supervisory roles and budget.

Why is this better than a call? I'm in the same boat. Switched to finalist about 20-25 minutes ago but no phone call. This has been such a roller coaster. Has anyone other than ex-fighter pilot super star honors candidate receive an offer by phone?

FYI (I updated the spreadsheet too), I received and accepted an OIL offer today on the phone. My status changed to finalist in AVUE about 5 minutes after the call, and I received no email about the status change or anything else. I haven't heard anything yet from the two other components I interviewed with. I'm happy to answer (anonymously) any other questions people want to post.

Good luck to everyone!

Did you have oral advocacy experience? I was wondering to what extent that was a hiring priority.

Congrats OP! What other components did you interview with? I couldn't tell from the spreadsheet.

Sorry to be oblivious, but what does it mean to be a finalist? Offer is forthcoming or offer might be forthcoming?

It means you either will get an offer or you are an alternate for an offer.

Thank you! I was Anonymous 4 on the spreadsheet. As far as stats, seeing other peoples just freaked me out about the process so I am not going to post mine. I will say that for future people who are discouraged based on statistics, don't let it stop you.

Any other ATR finalists still waiting/hoping for a phone call? Surely they wouldn't split the phone calls across two days. For Anon 4 above were you offered a specific section and also what time did your status flip and the call come?

Really worried I'm stuck as an alternate. I think that might be worse than nothing at all.

And Congrats Anon 4!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I got an offer for the Washington Criminal II section. I noticed my status was changed around 11:30 PST (but not sure if it was actually changed at that time) and I got a phone call around 1:00 PST.
