And to (sort of) answer an above poster's question, I'm getting a lot of silence as well (I've only heard back from around four or five firms out of around twenty), but I don't think we need to panic yet, especially if (but not necessarily only if) your interview schedule was backloaded. Anyway, I'll keep posting info about my dings and CBs to be helpful. Oh, and congratulations on surviving screeners, everyone!
Five callbacks out of twenty is not "silence." Saying that is only going to make people on this ridiculous thread even more worried. If you look at the 2012 eip results it looks like most callback rates run in the ballpark of 25-40% of interviewees, and not all of your callbacks have even come in yet, so you are in fine shape. All you need is one offer.
If you think you're behind, the most important thing you can do is have the right attitude going forward. If and when you get a callback, invest EVERYTHING in that callback interview. Callback usually means you made their GPA cutoff and now they are evaluating you for fit and for your interest in that firm, factors that are within your control.
No offense, but I don't really get the attitude here. Yes, people are worried. Yes, we're all neurotic and on edge right now. Of course people will invest time and effort into callbacks, but I think it is silly to think that callbacks are (outside of grades) a totally different animal. Some firms hire a high percentage of the people they invite for callbacks, but many are at around 50% or below.
I guess what I'm saying is, even though you seem to think you're being nice there, you're being pretty patronizing and diminishing the real concerns that someone else might have. We don't need that.
To the poster whose concerns sparked this, it might be alarming to be sitting without many or any callbacks right now, but we're through EIP so we should not waste time worrying about what has already happened. Hopefully you'll hear something positive and you'll be able to plan for those interviews. If you haven't already, you might want to consider mailing firms that you did interview with through EIP and firms in smaller markets.
The 3L students we've seen for the past few days are real people too. It's arrogant to think that they made some huge fixable mistake that you can easily avoid through effort and charm. This thread isn't about gunning for prestige or showing off, it's a resource for us to use during a stressful process.
Let's be excellent here.
