Flips88 wrote:Ugh. starting to get neurotic about things. Recruiting talked about the hiring partners reviewing our summer hours soon. Final reviews should be coming next week too. In the last two years, the office has no offered 1 person out of 100+ SAs. The guy that got no offered apparently just didn't do a whole assignment and ended up forcing an associate to do it. Still, I'm irrationally anxious about all this.
Be honest, you pulled this exact same move 3-4 times didn't you? So lazy.

I'm sure you'll be fine.

Two more friends were offered this morning (different law firms). That should put their mind at ease during their break. It would be a bummer to be on vacation having to be concerned about something equivalent to being fired.

question: did any of you all chip in for a gift at the end of the summer for the summer coordinator/recruiting director? if so, what did you get? we're having a bit of a civil war within our summer class over whether a plant/flowers or a gift card to a restaurant is more appropriate and i wanted to consult the learned oracle that is TLS

Nope. But flowers is the correct answer.

For markets where split summers are the norm, is there any consensus for when a first-half firm would make its offers? I'm wondering if they would wait for you to finish at the second firm or just offer whenever they've made a decision. Anybody have experience in a market like this?

Texas SA here. My 1st half firm waits to make offers until their summer program is over (I think the total length is 10 weeks). I don't think the second firm has any bearing on what the first firm does.

How long after? Texas SA as well. My first half firm's program ended last Friday (I left a few weeks ago after doing 6 weeks). Currently twiddling my thumbs at my second half gig.

Same situation for me in terms of only being there 6 weeks. I was told end of July as well so I think that is probably the norm. My guess is early next week, probably Monday.

Ditto, although I was not that stressed until a half hour before my scheduled review.

Final review was overwhelmingly positive. They said I was was one of the "top-performing" summers, how I was a great fit, etc. But we won't hear on offers until Labor Day. :\
Blah.

27 in 10 here.
Yep. I actually just got two more yesterday as well, so 29 in 10 as my final tally. Not all were big assignments. Some were only a couple of hours long. One or two were like 20 minutes. Some were summer-long projects.

22 in 10 weeks.
Also, we had an end of the summer party at the hiring partner's house last night. We had been told from past summers that if (as usually happens) everyone gets offers, they announce it at the end of the party.....no announcement. So here I am, about 6 hours away from my final evaluation today where I may find out I have an offer....I'm getting no-offered...or Im in the week or so long purgatory of "we havent made our decisions yet." For everyone with an offer (or about the get one), what’s the grand the plan for 3L? Trying (unsuccessfully) to locate a thread or two on what others did in their 3L year.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
