Re: UVa OGI Callback Thread
I am a little confused about something; do screeners usually know which students are preselects and which are lottery? I was really excited to be preselected by a firm that came looking for multiple locations, as they only had 20 spots for a few different locations and it seemed to increase my odds of getting a callback, but before the interview the screener asked me to remind him which location I was interviewing for. This makes me think that the screener had no idea who was there as a preselect/lottery, and that being a preselect would not improve my chances of getting a CB at all. Thoughts?

Re: UVa OGI Callback Thread
Firms preselect/alternate based on resumes and transcripts that you upload to Symplicity, so they would look at their ultimate schedule for the day, and know whether or not they chose you. Presumably this would filter down to the interviewing attorney, but who knows what the internal processes are. Interviewers have different degrees of preparedness - some of my alternates seemed to know my resume and called me back, while others seemed confused as to why I was in the room. Although I'm not sure which firm you're talking about, 20 spots for a bunch of locations sounds like a firm that might hire small class sizes in each location in the first place, and you have to remember we're competing with other schools. But overall, yes, TLS had me believing that preselects were way more easy to convert than they actually were.

Re: UVa OGI Callback Thread
I know for a fact that at least one firm interviewer that came had no idea who was preselect or lottery. No idea if that depends on the firm though. As another anecdote I've gotten callbacks from both lottery and alternate firms.Anonymous User wrote:I am a little confused about something; do screeners usually know which students are preselects and which are lottery? Take this for what it's worth but my friend interviewed for one of their overseas offices and screener (GS) said those might take awhile.

Dear people, I think it's time for you to post the offers. I don't have any yet, but it would be good information for the rest of us. Thank you all and congratulations.

Wouldn't the search engine on TLS suffice? This sounds like a great way to out yourself for the bigger firms.Anonymous User wrote:Dear people, I think it's time for you to post the offers. I don't have any yet, but it would be good information for the rest of us. Thank you all and congratulations.
