That's a pretty general question. Did you express interest in a practice area?

Bingham asked why in such a bad economic climate I still decided to go to school law. lol.

In another interview someone asked why do you want to work for a big law firm as the first question. I said I valued the training and development tools that a big law firm offers that smaller firms can't because of their size, and how because I'm unsure of the exact practice group I want a big firm will allow me to work in different groups and help me make my decision. Then I would segue into what I liked about their summer program that would let me do it.

I've only interviewed with big law firms (11 so far), but I've never gotten this question. I have had "Why apply to our firm instead of others?" though.

Could one of you 2Ls let me know what McKenna Long is looking for, GPA cut offs, etc. for their SD/LA offices?

Strong academic credentials (top 20%). Prefer Law Review, Moot Court, Journal experience and/or evidence of strong writing ability. Demonstrated interest in San Diego/Los Angeles.

Bad interview day.

1. Got told I made a typo on my grade sheet (I want to die)
2. Had a great interview with firm that does a lot of tech- then ended awkwardly when asked if I follow tech news and which tech journals I read (I don't)
