UT
Akin Gump (Houston), Porter Hedges, Haynes & Boone (Houston), K&L Gates (Dallas) or Patton Boggs (Dallas)?
I talked to someone today who got rejection email from H&B (Houston) this morning , so is anyone who hasn't gotten such an email still in the running? Did Akin Gump have any kind of dinner or exclusive reception?
Got invited to Sullivan & Cromwell party after interview. No idea if this was general or exclusive. Did not get invited to Quinn E, so this must have been exclusive.
Can confirm that Shook Hardy & Bacon has no type of reception and neither does K&L Gates (Dallas). Porter Hedges has a general event for everyone (I think).

sorry for the tangent, but does anyone have a link to last years OCI result thread? I tried the search function but couldnt find it. I think it would be interesting to see what dates TX firms started doling out CBs and offers

For those of you who have CBs with any of the above firms, how long after your screener did you hear?

Attend a school outside of Texas. Had a great interview with H&B (Dallas) and even got invited a dinner. I felt that dinner went well, but I have heard nothing from them. Any news from H&B Dallas?

wait it out friend. H&B (both H-town and Dallas) are notorious for moving relatively slow . I think they are waiting for after they have finished most OCIs to get callbacks all scheduled

S&C party/after party. Was this invite only or open to all interviewees? Got the invitation at the end of the interview, and there didn't seem to be that many people there. But there was a stack of invitations on the interview desk for all to see.

Thanks. I figured no news could be good news, but I really liked the screeners, so I am hoping to get a callback.

Congrats on the AK Houston CB. They are a very people-oriented firm so emphasize your likability

I split there and a Big 3 firm after 1L and wouldve returned to AK but my SO wanted NY so I did a V25 firm this summer. I can say without a doubt that if your goal is corporate/transactional in TX, you should pick AK if you get an offer.
