Re: DOJ Honors
Did the EOIR folks give you a timeline for accepting? Might help us understand when to expect second round offers. Would also love to know your geography. I think some offers go out by region. Feel free to PM me if you're willing to share, but don't want to share more info online. Thanks for keeping us in the loop!Anonymous User wrote:New poster here. I received an EOIR offer on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

I think its safe to say at this point that if you're an EOIR finalist who hasn't had their references called yet, then you're an alternate. Now it's just time to wait patiently.

Re: DOJ Honors
Did anyone get your interview travel reimbursements yet?
(Sorry if anyone thought this would be a post about an offer. I'm not sure what's more unlikely at this point--getting a travel stipend or an employment decision from the DOJ)

Right about now should be 28 days from the first round of offers going out. Anyone hear anything? Looks like I'm SOL.

Re: DOJ Honors
Thanks for asking on Avue, whoever did that!
Do we really think anyone is turning down a government job at this point? I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I think the chance is extremely slim.
Also, for you all waiting on EOIR, does anyone have a good backup plan? After putting most of my eggs in the government basket, I'm panicky about graduating with NO JOB, despite a great GPA. Probably should have sold out earlier, huh?

Re: DOJ Honors
I got a ding email for a non-immigration component. The email said something like "although you were a finalist, we're finished hiring and you're not picked." Oh well.

Re: DOJ Honors
Can someone DM me contact information (email or phone) for the ARC for EOIR? Or any other contact you have at EOIR that would know about hiring? I know the judge I interviewed with gave me the card of the 3rd year JLC who works in the office, but I seem to have misplaced it.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: DOJ Honors
I find it really absurd that EOIR is still unable to release the tons of alternates who have been waiting already. They didn't have THAT many spots to fill this year.

Re: DOJ Honors
This is what I was told today:
"The EOIR Honors Program hiring process is very close to completion, but is not complete yet."
So you know, totally not helpful. But I guess a sliver of hope?

Re: DOJ Honors
I was told EOIR is done hiring, but they will keep me in mind in case a spot happens to open up. Basically, it's over.
