Nah, it was just one office I had no ties to. They have another office in an area where I have significant ties, and that interview would only be secured through lottery at my new school anyway, so it would be an entirely clean slate. I'm just surprised that the other office wouldn't at least advise me to bid on them in my new school's lottery, unless they so disapprove of my academic credentials that they wouldn't even want to waste time with me.

+1

Interested to see how offers and rejections are going to shake out considering how many outside-of-OCI callbacks they're doing this year.

I guess I had a screener today. Wrote an email to an attorney who specializes in an area I'm interested in, and he said he would be happy to talk about with me in person. So I went in and asked him a bunch of Q's, and conversation later turned to me. He requested my resume, and said he would pass it along once he heard that I applied to the firm. Didn't hurt that he is one of the top guys (if not the top guy) in the entire firm, so I'm pretty sure his word can essentially guarantee me a real interview, whether it be another screener or a callback. I guess that makes 7 mass mail interviews thus far. If thats all I get before OCI, I'm certainly happy with it.

Same here. They definitely seem to be the leader in mass mail callbacks.

Radio silence from Atlanta thus far. One CB from Nashville and nothing else but I only applied to 3 there because Waller's out of the 2L game and another of the biggest firms is at my OCI.

ETA: Firms, y u no reply when I say I'll be in your city? Going to 3 different cities over the next 2 weeks, hit up a different firm in each, two of whom I've already had screeners with. Nothing. You're killing me, guys. At least shoot me a two-line email ding.

Yes. I'm not sure if this is something of special note for this year, or if it's more an annual symptom of them not traveling to some very good schools' OCIs (e.g. Stanford, UChicago, UMichigan, Berkeley).

Going into White & Case for a screener soon. Can anybody give any insight on how these are run and if there is anything unexpected that might pop up?

Not everyone getting Cahill CBs are from T14s though.

That's true, but qualified job candidates are going to come disproportionately from the T14. If Cahill did do OCI at every T10 school, I highly doubt we would be seeing the number of callbacks that we have been seeing. There are only so many students at UIUC, WUSTL, ND, etc. that have the grades to get a look from a V50.

Which Nashville firm (if you can)? Stats? Curious because I also have one with a big firm there (four words).

Email. Read on the law hiring partner blog that he preferred email because it is 1) quicker and 2) easier to forward to recruiting to include in a central file.

From my limited experience with interviews, evaluations can happen almost immediately after you leave or the next morning. You just don't have time for snail mail anymore.

Just got another interview. Not sure if its screener or callback. Pretty large regional firm from my state. That makes 8 interviews from the mass mail campaign.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
