I love the random anon inquiries for firms nobody gives a flying fuck about
What's Wiley Rein gonna do?!?!
those guys are actually a decent candidate to covingttton, being based in dc and with a large specialized practice

Them and Crowell
Crowell wasn't even paying market before the 180 bump. Shit, I don't think they were paying market for TWO pay bumps ago (i.e. aren't they still at like 135K?)
According to Vault, they're 160K starting, then 170K, and then who knows.

Wow when the fuck did that happen? Back when I was going through OCI a couple years ago they were definitely well below market.

Definitely nothing from Orrick yet - incoming associate here, watching it like a hawk.
I bet we'll act quicker this time than we did in 2007, given today's slew of matches from our competitors.
Chose Orrick over firms that have already matched. They better get a move on!
Same here. Did you check with anyone in your office? My mentor said everyone's aware of the bump, but nobody's talking about it. Partners would probably have the scoop, but I'm still pretty formal with the ones in my practice group...

Yeah hell no they don't. At my callback with JD the associates all said they get at or above market (whether that was bullshit or not is another question)---but whatever kool aid they have you drink there I highly doubt anyone thinks it is worth 20k more.
Wow, that is fucked if someone would lie in a CB about that.

On the Orrick front:
SAs were told at the SF academy that there's a meeting scheduled to discuss the pay next week. I wouldn't expect anything until then.
That being said, the firm went from "we don't know, we think we're different than Cravath" when only like 5 firms had announced on Tuesday to telling us a meeting was scheduled very quickly.

You must be a go-getter. I'm lazy af so I knew I had to go to a lockstep firm w/ market bonuses.

I remember the one person I talked to about it said most people make at or a little more than base comp but no bonus. So I got lucky or you just got an asshiole? I went anyway so it's whatever I guess.

Jones Day asked me my LSAT score in my screener
At my callback some partner sat at the end of a oddly long office and works for fifteen minutes while I sat at the other end
Asked me one question and then told me to leave

HAHA
I did a JD screener and iirc there were 3 interviewers in the hotel room.
Thot I was in for a gangbang...so was unpleasantly surprised when it turned out to be an actual interview.
