I'm fairly confident that JD will match given the momentum. They can sell the black box at OCI when associates can honestly say they get near market (counting bonuses) and that the gap is worth the cultural trade offs. But I don't think many associates think the culture is worth $20k.

Current list (based on RPL) is fine for the purpose of shaming. If it makes you feel better, feel free to tack on the vereins (Baker, DLA, Hogan, etc.).Anonymous User wrote: Should include a lot more - RPL is a worse stat than PPP. W&C, HL, Cov, DLA, and others have RPL below 1M, but that's irrelevant considering that, with the exception of Cov, they have a big international presence, which brings down their RPL (and their PPP, but not to the same extent).
And Covington, just lulz at their financials.

Yeah hell no they don't. At my callback with JD the associates all said they get at or above market (whether that was bullshit or not is another question)---but whatever kool aid they have you drink there I highly doubt anyone thinks it is worth 20k more.Anonymous User wrote:I'm fairly confident that JD will match given the momentum. It was definitely bullshit once you include bonuses...Anonymous User wrote:Yeah hell no they don't. Chose Orrick over firms that have already matched. They better get a move on!Anonymous User wrote:Definitely nothing from Orrick yet - incoming associate here, watching it like a hawk.Nynaeve wrote:Any word on Reed Smith or Orrick?
I bet we'll act quicker this time than we did in 2007, given today's slew of matches from our competitors.

It's not even kool aid; with JD they're all drinking store-brand generic powder drink mix.homestyle28 wrote:It was definitely bullshit once you include bonuses...Anonymous User wrote:Yeah hell no they don't. A friend of mine at a 180 firm asked me console him over his recent break up. Me at a 160 firm. Like, damn it, you have 20k of consoling.

Also, we might be talking about different W&Cs... but Williams & Connolly has RPL well over a million http://abovethelaw.com/2016/04/the-2016 ... e-ahead/2/SplashBros wrote:Current list (based on RPL) is fine for the purpose of shaming. Oh yeah my bad - I meant White and Case. And yeah...not sure why CovingTTTon is so "elite"...they have the financials of a verein without being a verein.Anonymous User wrote:Also, we might be talking about different W&Cs... but Williams & Connolly has RPL well over a million http://abovethelaw.com/2016/04/the-2016 ... e-ahead/2/SplashBros wrote:Current list (based on RPL) is fine for the purpose of shaming. I didn't even know Orrick really paid market. Did they get rid of the weird non-lock step tier system they had? Or are they still going to match at least first year salaries?

They pay market but have a merit system where you can skip a year or be held back a year. I know a lot of people who have actually skipped a year. Above market bonuses too if you reach 2200.oblig.lawl.ref wrote:I didn't even know Orrick really paid market. Did they get rid of the weird non-lock step tier system they had? Crowell wasn't even paying market before the 180 bump. Shit, I don't think they were paying market for TWO pay bumps ago (i.e. aren't they still at like 135K?)Anonymous User wrote:Them and Crowellsoj wrote:those guys are actually a decent candidate to covingttton, being based in dc and with a large specialized practiceAnonymous User wrote:What's Wiley Rein gonna do?!?!PennBull wrote:I love the random anon inquiries for firms nobody gives a flying fuck aboutAnonymous User wrote:How much do we think Morgan Lewis will drag its feet?
