I think some offices email rejections too.Anonymous User wrote:Based on past years blogs, the offices typically call only if your getting an offer and snail mail the rejections. I haven't come a crossed an individual, or story, in which someone was called and not given and offer. - hope this helps.Anonymous User wrote:If you're getting rejected after the third round, do most offices call you and let you know, or just send you a letter?
Does anyone mind sharing, or at least providing suggestions, on Nassau's "non-research" writing sample? I'm a little confused by what they're asking for - i.e. Am I suppose to pick a current event topic and just write about it or pick any topic so long as it relates to criminal law?
For Nassau, I would say any current event or criminal law topic but try to tie it to your own personal experiences (maybe as an intern or something) and then have an opinion on it.

Helene was such a lovable angel cutie pie from my personal experience.Anonymous User wrote:Got a call scheduling a second round with Queens today. First round was early September. Helene is the sweetest!
As this was everyone else's experience, I am now highly suspect of her ulterior motives.

Call from Cook County SAO last Friday to schedule final round.
Told them thanks, but I'm returning back to New York.
Also Staten Island and Suffolk (NY) DA invited me for a first round interview.
Go get 'em guys, they're hiring.

Do you know what the next steps are in terms of paperwork and official employment documents stating salary, etc?

They told me they'd contact us and then send us employment packets sometime in April, including the start date and all that. For now, salary is listed on the website.

Salary is 63k post-bar for the class of 2015, which also received on top of that 2-3k bonuses.
Heard our class may get a raise to 65k? It'd be nice to make near 70k pretax as a first year ADA.

Different Anon here, was also told that there would be a group email for the new class circulating sometime in February with background check stuff starting in May.

For those applying to Miami, or who may have received offers... do you get an offer during your third round with the state attorney or not until later? Is there anyone in this thread that has accepted/planning to accept a Miami offer?

Re: District Attorney Offices 2016
I had my third round in November, and was applying specifically for the March hiring class. Got a call a couple of weeks ago from Miami's recruitment coordinator confirming that I was taking the FL bar in February, and saying they hadn't decided whether they were going forward with a March class or not, but they'd let me know something soon. Still waiting...Anonymous User wrote:For those applying to Miami, or who may have received offers... do you get an offer during your third round with the state attorney or not until later? So orientation training is:
Manhattan: 6 weeks (http://manhattanda.org/legal-training)
Brooklyn: 4 weeks (http://brooklynda.org/legal-training-unit)
Queens: 3 weeks (http://www.queensda.org/ada.html)
Bronx: 2 weeks (http://bronxda.nyc.gov/html/units/training.shtml)
