about 16 interviews, 1 CB, and only 1 ding at this point.
no ding from sidley or bracewell as others have mentioned. Do some firms have a second round of CB's?
any dings from HayBo or Hostetler?

no firm will care if you only work one half of the summer.
as for what to do with the rest of the summer, some people do some resume padding, but a lot of people i knew went on vacations.

Has anyone heard back from these firms in Houston after callbacks?
Haynes & Boone
Strasburger
Fulbright
Porter Hedges
Just curious as to what the timeline is for when they will be extending offers after callbacks.

My understanding is Porter Hedges will not be extending offers until after their next round of callbacks this week. So, probably no movement until early next week.zxasqw124 wrote:Has anyone heard back from these firms in Houston after callbacks?

That is what I heard as well. I did my callback on the first day so I imagine it will be sometime next week.Anonymous User wrote:My understanding is Porter Hedges will not be extending callbacks until after their next round of callbacks this week. Does anyone have any idea about the callback/offer ratio at any of the TX firms/offices? Every search of the forums seems to only turns up this figure from NY/DC. I figured the answer is no but though it was worth asking.

3L at UT here. Just a heads up to let you all know that for at least two consecutive summers prior to this summer, Porter Hedges has no-offered a quarter to a third of its small summer class. If you're splitting between PH and a big firm with better %s, this is acceptable risk. But if you're deciding between PH and another firm for the same half, I'd be very wary of choosing PH with those odds.Anonymous User wrote:My understanding is Porter Hedges will not be extending offers until after their next round of callbacks this week. On this topic... When do new NALP forms come out/ I imagine that once you have an offer that it becomes appropriate to ask the recruiter what their 2014 Summer numbers were?Anonymous User wrote:3L at UT here. Re: 2014 Texas OCI (UT and other schools bidding on TX)
I had heard that as well. I also heard that PH no offered people who weren't really that interested in returning to PH. Do you know if the people who got no offered really wanted to be at PH or is that just PH's policy to no offer a certain amount of summers. It seems strange coming from a smaller firm with a small summer class.Anonymous User wrote:3L at UT here. 2L in the same boat. How long ago did you interview? I was told 10-14 days, but I'm already starting to get nervous.Anonymous User wrote:2LAnonymous User wrote:For 2Ls or 3Ls?Anonymous User wrote:Any info on callback to offer turnaround for Kirkland Houston?
Especially because someone on here already has an offer apparently. That said, it seems like they're having a bunch of people in their office this week and next week, so maybe they want to see a good chunk of candidates before making their decisions with such a small SA class size.

2014 summer numbers won't come out for a while, probably until 2015. Yes, definitely appropriate to ask about summer numbers if/when you get an offer.Anonymous User wrote:On this topic... Re: 2014 Texas OCI (UT and other schools bidding on TX)
JW offered 16/21 (I think) in 2013. But as someone else just suggested, PH's bad numbers may be due to a policy of no-offering those who they know will be choosing a different firm. In that case, JW's numbers may be even more concerning than PH's.Anonymous User wrote:Thoughts on Jackson Walker for the same reason?Anonymous User wrote:3L at UT here.
