The info is kind of useless if you don't say your bid order.

Lol that might be one of the worst bid lists I've ever seen. Fortunately you go to Uchi so there's a 95% chance it still works out.

Appreciate the snark. Unless there's some reason a 34 bid trumps a 24 bid, I don't get how this would actually happen rather than being made up, since there's no preselect.

Considering they're on a day I have only two interviews, I don't think it's a scheduling thing. I'd understand if they were coming on the day I have 7, but that's not the case.

It's not firm-or-nothing for me, so it'd take an offer from one of these to get me there.

Sincerely,

This prompted me to look closer. I listed Wilmer DC and Winston DC as hits understanding that getting them for NY included their DC office. Let me know if that's inaccurate. If so, they're misses.

Ok, that makes more sense. Didn't realize they were interviewing together and so your 8 bid would grab them. That also explains why they filled earlier than I expected.

I don't really know how that works, to be honest. Your guess sounds right to me.

Can someone older and smarter walk me through the open sign up thing? Basically my understanding is that if a firm has open slots next to its name, come 12:30pm two days before their interview date, you can click on their name and slot yourself into their schedule. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if I can't follow directions properly. Thanks a lot.

Correct. First come first serve, so for popular firms, you need to be refreshing like a man-man at 12:30.

Are you limited to firms that you bid on (but didn't get)? The emails from OCS seem to indicate yes but I just want to be sure ahead of time due to the rushed aspect.

So I'm guessing yes, but it's a bit unclear.

We weren't limited to firms we bid last year.

Any idea why Jones Day Chicago only has 9 slots? Thought they added 21. Are people signing up before open-sign ups somehow?

Paul Woo automatically added people who just missed them with bidding. I think it was up to around 7th or so. For people who are below that threshold, you will have to wait until open sign ups.
