I'm 99% sure they have not handed down any offers. They do not do rolling offers and the last interview was Friday. Offers should come this week. Maybe your friend was talking about the Houston office?Anonymous User wrote:Friend of mine got one about a week after his CB, that was over a week ago thoughAnonymous User wrote:Waiting for an Andrews Kurth (Dallas) offer; has anyone received an offer from the firm?

Thank you, and congrats on having so many great options! Just out of curiosity, what firm did you end up choosing? (Feel free to give a range.)Anonymous User wrote:Turned down offers at NRF, HB, BB (all Dallas) today. Good luck to you all.

Serious congrats on all the offers, man. Those were definitely all great options. Hopefully slots will open up at NRF, HB and BB soon for the rest of us. Have you had to turn down anywhere else?Anonymous User wrote:Akin Gump-Dallas.Anonymous User wrote:Thank you, and congrats on having so many great options! From what my friends who were clerks last summer or who are first years in Dallas now (not at Akin), it sounds like Akin's Dallas office has really been reenergized with all of the young partners that have moved over recently.

Did turn down other offers. I will not say which firms. I turned them down last week.Anonymous User wrote:Serious congrats on all the offers, man. Those were definitely all great options. Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
Understood, sometimes I get paranoid that the firms are all reading these and know who we all are. Any particular reason why you chose Akin (if you don't mind me asking)? I had a CB there but haven't heard back yet. People seemed cool though. Although I met mostly litigators and I hear they are more fun.Anonymous User wrote:

When did you have your CB w/ Porter Hedges. I am curious if they do all the offers at once or if it matters when the CB was.Anonymous User wrote:Porter Hedges offer this morning. Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
Friday, at the mega CB day (I believe they have 3 of these days?). I think the hiring committee meets on Tuesdays, so offers could still be trickling out. They can't be done offering because I know they have another dinner/CB day at the end of this week.Anonymous User wrote:When did you have your CB w/ Porter Hedges. Trying to choose between Skadden, AK, Sidley Austin, and Bracewell - all Houston. Anyone have any advice?

What are your goals? Do you want to stay in TX long term?Anonymous User wrote:Trying to choose between Skadden, AK, Sidley Austin, and Bracewell - all Houston. Anyone have any advice?
As I understand, Skadden has a pretty small office in Houston. Sidley is bigger, but not huge.
AK is solid if you want to be do transactional work, their litigation department is a ghost of its former self (like most big firms in Houston)
If you want to litigate, and be in a TX based firm, Bracewell would be my choice.
If you want a big name national, I would go with Sidley, though I dont know much about their Houston office, that advice is based on a national outlook.
Good luck and congrats, its a nice problem to have.

Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
Congrats to all those with offers and good luck to those still waiting! Thoughts on the following firms please: Thompson Knight, Bracewell, Akin Gump, Porter Hedges, Locke Lord (all in Houston)? Interested in transactional work, not at all interested in litigation.

Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
I'd think Akin or T&K. Bracewell and LL would be better choices to me if you wanted to litigate, though they both have solid (if not outstanding) transactional departments as well. Porter Hedges is a good firm and is well known in Houston, but they are ONLY in Houston, so its not where I would go if you want to lateral within the foreseeable future. Also, PH pays slightly below the NY scale according to NALP, if that matters in your decision.Anonymous User wrote:Congrats to all those with offers and good luck to those still waiting!
