So what happens to people who can't find a job... My roommate is still looking, and he's considering summer school or asking his 1L summer boss as a last resort.

RA, local trial court judges, local solos who will let you shadow them and summer classes are all I can think of as advice at this point.a male human wrote:So what happens to people who can't find a job... Just got a call today from the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys at DOJ - already committed for this summer but I'm sure they are going down their list...

so since the DA takes alot of people it isn't as good for experience or recognition is it? I passed up for an opportunity to interview at the Houston DA's office and I keep wondering whether I made a mistake.

If you are OP and have nothing, yes it was a big mistake. If you have something else better than an RA, no, because DAs are super hard to get longterm and don't hire exclusively from interns.

DA's are one of the few government positions that still hire directly after graduation.

The Dallas DA's office has about 20 people on a list. Those are people waiting for a spot to open up that they want to hire. In other words, if you get an interview, make it through, and get hired, you will wait behind those 20 people for an available spot.Cupidity wrote:DA's are one of the few government positions that still hire directly after graduation.

A 2L told me SRZ is still hiring. Last year, Goodwin Proctor NY had not filled their class until late in the hiring season, so maybe that is another place to try.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! Willkie wasn't listed on my symplicity site, so I would not have known! Thanks so much.KamaalTheAbstract wrote:Wilkie is looking for a 2L. Must apply by 10am at least according to symplicity. NYC.
