Has anybody been able to apply to O'Melveny? Strong candidate with LA ties but they don't come to my school's OCI and there's no summer associate application available on their site. I'd hate to miss the boat.

Hey just wanted to say before OCI for all of you that I am hiring an associate for my firm that specializes in medical malpractice (and handles a couple of different practice areas). There is one other partner, an associate, and two paralegals. Most of the work is in Central Florida but we are willing to hire an associate on a hybrid basis. This is partner-track. If potentially interested after OCI please PM me a resume and feel free to scrub the name and address/other identifying information. If it seems like a good fit we can move forward from there.

The unnecessary self-promotion has been deleted. At this point, the poster in question doesn't appear to be trolling threads so much as he appears to be expressing dumb opinions. So no ban for now. Please report any posts that you think cross the line from dumb into trolling, and we'll take a look (I didn't have time to thoroughly review his post history).

Separately, please don't just say "mods" in a random thread if you really want us to notice a post. There's a good chance we'll never see that request. The report function is, as the name suggests, the best way to report posts.

I have been interviewing a ton over the past two and half weeks, but no offers yet. CA only (although I have a callback interview in NYC in a couple weeks.) Just transferred into T10, should I send updates to all firms that I applied to? All that I have interviewed at?

Wondering whats the worth at this point for firms I haven't screened at, if I should just wait to get a grab at OCI.

I don't know whether and to whom you should send an update, but at my YSH, Kirkland, Latham, etc. in CA have not yet extended any offers. (Can provide more info if you give me the specific firms.)

T13 student here. Latham LA, Kirkland SF have definitely extended offers and started doing CBs a month ago.

Q: I won a moot court competition last year and my brief is getting published in a T100 secondary journal. Should I list that separately from the moot court win on my resume, list in in lieu of the win, or not list it at all? If so, since it hasn't been published yet, should I say "Publications: To be published in the Fall 2023 edition of the XXX Journal of Y"? I would ask our OCS but they're basically worthless lol

Is Cravath big with Pre-OCI? I got a "see you at OCI" email from a hiring partner, and I know that they sent out the first wave of Pre-OCI last week, so I'm trying to determine if it's a soft reject or if they are only hiring the exceptional students for pre-OCI.

Wouldn’t call myself ‘exceptional’ (10-20% @ MVPB w/ LR, no WE), but got a screener.

I'm worried and wanted to get your input here. 3.2 at T-14, URM. Mass mailed and applied to many NY firms for summer positions through their website. So far, I have only received one screener and a ding from STB. If I have not heard back, does this count as a rejection? Meaning will this affect my chances at the real OCI?

If you haven't heard back, you're fine. There are a lot of reasons why you might not hear back from firms (even firms who are active in pre-OCI). It's only if you're explicitly rejected that you shouldn't go for it at OCI (so don't bit STB).
