Re: New associate fuck up thread (and tips for slacking)
I almost always come in for 2-3 hours on Saturday. That's also when I clean my office and take care of some random stuff like that. I get pretty cranky quickly when I don't have any days off tho

I've done almost no work in like 3 work days as I wait on the other matters I've been on to take the next step. Our hours don't start counting until 2016. We normally get work through an assignment coordinator, but you can also hustle and get work that way. Is it worth hustling or am I okay just waiting?

^ For bonus purposes. But my impression is you want to hit that figure or come close to in order to keep your job. Would this hold true from the get go? My only question is whether TCR is to hustle for more work or am I fine online shopping? I think some of the work I've done will probably get billed, but with some hours written off.

Thanks. I'm kind of thinking it might make sense to learn more about the kinds of matters we generally work on. There's only so many lawyers so if I could make a better first impression when I actually do work, that'd probably be worth more than gunning for some more hours.

Lol @ even coming close to 150 hours. No one is giving me work at all and I'm loving it.

Fuck up to add to the thread:
Reviews local rules in excruciating detail for court admitted pro hac in for which I have never practiced.
Sees there is thirty page limit on motions.
Makes sure that Motion does not exceed thirty pages.
Files Motion.
Gets email from douchebag counsel asking if I'll consent to relief of striking my own motion for failing to abide by the page limit because the Table of Contents and Table of authorities exceeded limit.
Tells supervising partner about email and we have good laugh over idiotic assertion that TOC/TOA could count toward page limit.
Goes back to my office and finds two cases that state that TOC/TOA count toward page limit in said District under local rule.

Anon above: already did. Filed a line substituting the new memorandum without the TOC/TOA, which aren't required by the rules.fats provolone wrote:agree to strike the table of contents and the table of authorities

Re: New associate fuck up thread (and tips for slacking)
The deadline for dispositive motions has passed already. So, no. That said, I can't imagine they're going to strike the motion--I couldn't find a single case that actually struck the motion for having too many pages, especially since ours was just based on the addition of a table of contents.Desert Fox wrote:What happens if they strike the motion.
