At least a bit better than completely dinging yourself by being late.Capitol_Idea wrote:More the former than the latter. Firms are understanding I think but it still sucks.

has anyone seen much success with individual outreach for firms you didn't get? i've gotten a lot of polite "our slots are full, but stop by our suite and check then!" sort of emails.

Transfer who also did not make journal. We can try again next year. Those who didn't make it - did you guys all receive a "congrats on your journal placement" email regardless of your result? Are they just teasing me? : (((

I think they probably sent it to everyone since it was anonymous and would just be easier for them to send it to everyoneAnonymous User wrote:Transfer who also did not make journal. Not trying to burst above poster's bubble, but I think journal tryouts are a one-shot deal. At least that seems pretty clear in the FAQ on the OJA write-on website. Don't think you can try out 2L year.
That being said, there are multiple anecdotes from capitol idea and some other TLS users saying that being on journals other than main (and, conversely, not being on a journal) really isn't that big of a deal. TCR seems to be that no one really cares, just have some other involvement and you'll be fine.

Capitol: I shouldn't have a problem with a 10 min buffer, should I? E.g. interview ending at 3:40, next begins at 3:50.

Folks who may not have housing by EIW/transfers: are you staying at the Hyatt or a nearby hotel?

There is no need to waste money staying at the Hyatt. Just plan to get there early enough and be there all day.

You can drop by firms' hospitality suites or just chill. If you don't want to be surrounded by nervous classmates, you can always go to a nearby starbucks or just go to the campus.Anonymous User wrote:Was thinking about the same thing, probably gonna sit awkwardly by myself and people watch...love people watchingAnonymous User wrote:What are people doing with a few hours between interviews?

Anyone interested in Covington (DC)? I'm looking for Wiley Rein (DC), Jones Day (DC) or any other V50 NY/DC firm that has a decent communications law practice group. PM if interested.

Are these shoes (British tan) too much to wear with a navy blue suit and a matching belt? Are black shoes and belt the better more conservative approach?

Zack, do you know if the EIW Orientation (held this Friday at 6) is worth going to? Is there good, necessary information put out, or is it all common sense (don't be late to your interview, don't dress like an idiot, etc)

Those are fine. I wore nearly identical shoes (color, too) to 2 pre-EIW CBs. Offers from both.Anonymous User wrote:https://m.colehaan.com/products/C14242? ... es_oxfords
