I have heard that this process is just slower - does anyone have an idea how long it should take to hear back after a CB?

No telling. Every time I see this thread on the front page I get excited that information is incoming. And then my hopes are dashed.Anonymous User wrote:I have heard that this process is just slower - does anyone have an idea how long it should take to hear back after a CB?

How are you other no-offers handling the obvious question? I wasn't technically a no-offer (a class of one, and the work wasn't going to be there, they said check back later), but its still killing my interviews.

Re: 3L OCI
I accepted an offer at a smaller firm but am considering applying at a larger firm in the same city that just posted an opening. I'm nervous though that they would ask the smaller firm if I got an offer. Since I already accepted at the smaller firm it would be really awkward for them to know I am looking elsewhere and I would worry they could even pull the offer. Are firms likely to check in with your summer firm before deciding whether they want to hire you?

Re: 3L OCI
So got the call back from Weil on Friday night, and haven't heard back from them re: scheduling.
I'm guessing at this point they are just going to cancel the call back. It's not really a surprise given that I'm median-ish.
Should I follow up just to make sure?

No, I'd just wait. Had the same issue with another firm.Anonymous User wrote:So got the call back from Weil on Friday night, and haven't heard back from them re: scheduling.

So in case someone hasn't seen the Davis Polk thread, apparently someone accepted an offer on September 8th. I suppose that is the last thing we have from DPW now. Hope is pretty much gone now.

to all those waiting, I offer some hope. I did 3L OCI (in 2014) and not one but TWO amlaw 200 firms waited almost 2 months to extend me an offer post CB.
one of those two, took 3 months.

Re: 3L OCI
I summered at a big name plaintiff's lit. boutique (think BLBG, Cohen Milstein, G&E, etc.). After the summer, I was told I would likely have an offer, but that it could not be extended until as late as May as, given the contingency model, the firm would need to evaluate their needs then and that they could not predict a year in advance. If I were to get an offer though I would likely accept it as I loved my summer.
I am obviously applying elsewhere in the meantime, but I am wondering what would be the best way to frame this. So far I have just been highlighting that my summer was longer than usual at 15-weeks and the work experience I received. I obviously can't say I received an offer, but also don't want it to look like I was no-offered.
Thoughts?

S&C didn't post on my T10 school's Symplicity. Weird. I guess I'll just bump my direct app somehow.

Re: 3L OCI
I'm getting the suspicious feeling firms are waiting until after Oct. 1 to see how many of their SAs accept full time offers until they make decisions on us apparently less desirable candidates lol (going by the fact they have given out SOME offers).

re: sewkis-
Posting said litigation but not sure if that was a default as was not in the body of the posting itself (i.e. "sewis is looking for entry level lit associates....") Still a pretty good bet though
